How's she finding the book?
She's not familiar with many of the bands he writes about, but she loves his writing, so she's enjoying it quite a bit. I'll read it eventually, at some point after she's done, and she's quite keen to know my take on it since, y'know, I am familiar with nearly all the bands he writes about.
Travis Morrison's "Around the Way Girl"
He also covered "What's Your Fantasy," which I believe is a Ludacris song. It's hysterically filthy. (I once saw a Travis solo show where he did nothing but covers of songs about sex. Oh, and his song about saving endangered species. It was special.)
Anyhow, I have "What's Your Fantasy" and can upload it to buffistarawk tonight if so desired.
P.S. Is it even a question that "Sargeant Pepper's" is the most overrated album ever? For recent stuff, I'm not sure, but I'm tempted to nominate the Shins or The Yeah Yeah Yeahs. But that might just be stuff I don't get.
They haven't released it yet, as far as I know. I'm waiting for them to release their cover of "Baby Got Back".
In two words, speaking of non-rap covers of rap songs: Richard Cheese. He's done this one, and probably a couple others I can't think of at the moment. Laugh your ass off.
Where are the punks of yesterday working today?

Of course, none of that is as cool as Bob Mould's stint as a writer for WCW wrestling.
This one makes me a little sad, though...
I was surprised so see Miki from Lush working in the TV listings dept of IPC.
Chris Mars from The Replacements probably makes more money now as a painter than Paul Westerberg does on 'Mats royalties.
I know it is not as much as most here, but I just passed the 10 days of music on my iTunes mark. excited.

Time to open your open radio station.
I just saw that Rhino is planning a large Girl Group box with cool/fancy packaging (like an old fashioned hat box) and extras. I'll be curious to see what they'll include that I don't have.
My mom thinks you have everything ever recorded.
Compared to us, this is so, but I now have three versions of "Mustang Sally."

Every year for Non-Religious Winter Celebration Spending Of Capital I beg for the Rhino 70's soul box (the one that looks like 8-track tapes). Every year, I don't get it.
Sigh.
