Oh man, that is seriously lame. There are a few Pumpkins songs I like, but no...just...no. What an asshole. He deserves testicular elephantitis for having that kind of balls.
Buffista Music III: The Search for Bach
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.
I used to kinda sorta like the Pumpkins way back when. But fuck that noise.
I still like their first few albums. But I'm gonna protest this shameless money grab by not buying the new album. Of course, I probably wouldn't have bought the album anyway, but now I'm going to not buy it twice as hard.
I hope it tanks worse than his solo album. Sadly, it will probably be a big hit. Fucker.
Kinda makes me happy that the only Pumpkins I have is a burned CD I got for free from a friend at work. Thanks, Cesar!
Jim Eno from Spoon was at our gig tonight. I was talking with Erik from Benko (who were absurdly awesome, btw) at closing time when Eno stopped to tell Erik how great they were. Then he nodded mildly to me and took off. Wow!
Actually, Erik and the vibraphone player from Benko are a wee bit famous, too, having been rotoscoped into Waking Life as part of their other gigs in Tosca and the Golden Arm Trio.
I just heard the band Carolina Chocolate Drops on Prairie Home Companion. If you're at all a fan of bluegrass, you must check these three kids out. They are smoking hot.
Heh. mr. flea was all, "I just listened to this band on Prairie Home Companions..." and I told him they were FROM here, which he didn't realize. They play locally a lot.
