I dropped that Alan Watts one pretty fast. I like and respect the guy, but his delivery was of the snooze.

Good to know; I might drop it after I give it a try, because I've heard good things about the guy but if I zone out while listening, what's the point?

flea, I listen to them on the bus/walk to and from work, and on my lunch break.

I just went and looked up the PRI show Afropop Worldwide

how funny! that just came up on metafilter today, and I made a note to subscribe to it when I got home.

I also like the shorter ones, because if I'm just walking to the store or something they're a quick burst of intelligence for the ambulation.

I keep seeing oblique references about the RIAA, and people figuratively stuffing their music under their mattresses. I'm guessing this is due to the RIAA going after university students for filesharing?

Yes, pretty much. Salon has a pretty thorough article today about some of the recent court decisions affecting the RIAA's lobby efforts: [link]

Podcast Without Intercourse

What's this one?

It's an indie music podcast from the guy who does this blog. It's pretty good, but I don't listen to it as much as I used to.

There have been some new university policies put into place about how the RIAA can contact university students, which is why that is popping up; combined with the new prices for music that affects internet radio, the RIAA and SoundExchange have been in the news recently.

Old Time Radio Suspense

What's this one?

Radio shows from the 40s (Escape, Suspense, The Shadow, The Whistler, etc.). There are definitely some series that I don't like, but there's a new one posted every couple of days, so I have yet to come close to getting through the ones I do like. Each episode is about 30 minutes, so two episodes fit perfectly for my walking time.
