Buffista Music III: The Search for Bach

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

My indie song of the day appears to be either "Elevate Me Later" by Pavement, an all-time fave rave I find well-nigh irresistible to singing/shouting/declaiming along with ("I'd like to check out your public protests!/Why you're complaining, Tah!"), or "X-mas Curtain" by My Morning Jacket, which I also like a lot.

Punishingly Intricate

want one of mine for today?

Sure!

I've been working on this complicated document all week and I can't listen to music while I'm having to think this hard. it sucks.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Does "Muleskinner Blues" by The Fendermen count?

"Good mornin' Cap'tin. Do you need another muleskinner? Eeeheeheeeheeehawww..."

Sure!

My country song of every day, pretty much all day since the Kennedy Center Awards, including the moment I read your post: Jolene, by Dolly Parton.

Are you familiar with Dolly's "Bargain Store"? It's similar to "Jolene" in that they both have beautiful, old english folk style melodies. Fairport could've done a great album of Dolly covers.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

That does suck. I always turn mine off if I have to do real research, but that doesn't seem to be happening a lot lately.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Are you familiar with Dolly's "Bargain Store"?

No, but I'll check it out tonight!

I think you'll love it. It's my favorite song by Dolly.

It's very affecting.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

What's your country song of the day?

None. I think the closest I come to having one is "Goodnight Moon" by Shivaree.
