Buffista Music III: The Search for Bach

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Bjork's new album is with Timbaland

I'll post some piggy songs tonight.

Sean, I've finalized all the Spy and Crime mixes but I have to make the covers and track listings and such not and that will probably not happen until the baby is dunked and the boy is tried out this weekend. Soon!

YAY!

(Soon is fine, though I have been occasionally looking forlornly at my mailbox, so soon is good.)

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

That album cover quiz was too hard for me. I think I got about a dozen and then was totally stumped.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Yeah, that was confusing to me. A band I was searching for was not on the US iTunes but instead was on iTunes Canada. Don't they know Canada is part of the US?

So, does anyone know if I would be able to purchase tracks from the UK iTunes? I haven't tried it yet.

... aaaaand the answer is no, no purchasing from the UK iTunes. As soon as I sign in, it tells me that my account is only for purchasing from the US store. Curses!

Before there was a UK store, folks in the UK could only buy from the US store if they had a credit card with a mailing address in the US. So I suppose the same thing is true here.

I think the whole thing is to do with rights and royalties being different in different countries.

Believe me, I've tried to get around this to purchase from the US store, and bar getting an US credit card, nothing has worked. And I was only trying to get free downloads, so it was particularly frustrating.

There are no pan asian supermarkets down in hell, so you can't buy Golden Boy peanuts.

You can buy US iTunes cards on eBay and Apple gives these instructions to set-up an account without a credit card (redeem the card first, then create a new account).

If you have someone you trust in the US, you could bypass eBay, send them money and have them purchase either a gift card or a gift certificate and send it to you.

This should also work for stores in other countries, but start with the minimum amount of money possible in case it doesn't work. The amount of eBay action suggests it does work, but I haven't tried it myself and I don't want anyone getting screwed over.
