There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

Did I already mention DJ Danger Mouse's new album with MF Doom - The Mouse and the Mask?:

It's already on my tentative top ten.

Better late than never - because it is great.

When it comes to hip-hop and mashups, I'm kinda behind the curve.

"When I look at people that I would like to feel have been a mentor or an inspiring kind of archetype of what I'd love to see my career eventually be mentioned as a footnote for in the same paragraph, it would be, like, Bowie." ~Trent Reznor

It's fantastic stuff. The Adult Swim clips and cameos are placed for maximum effect, and I've gotten a new appreciation for both Doom and Danger Mouse (though I already like any artist who will perform with a custom Doom mask on.)

Oh! Someone (I'm looking at you, Hec) will appreciate this -- he and his wife met on the Loud Family listserv.

See, now that's really weird. I googled and now know I recognize the name because it's an Anton Barbeau song. Who is collaborating with Miller on the new Loud Family album.

Stewart is a long-time regular on the loudfans mailing list.

Joe Mallon & Sue Trowbridge who run the Loud Family website and 125 Records met on loudfans as well.

FWIW, I owe my writing career to Game Theory. I contacted Judith Beeman because she posted about Game Theory on the alt.music.alternative newsgroup. We started an email correspondence. I wrote for her Big Star zine, Back of a Car. She put me in touch with Kim Cooper. I started writing for Kim's zine Scram. From that came the books. I also met my friend Elizabeth (a Stanford undergrad at the time) through Judith and mutual Game Theory/Big Star/ literate Power Pop love.
