Death is your art. You make it with your hands day after day. That final gasp, that look of peace. And part of you is desperate to know: What's it like? Where does it lead you? And now you see, that's the secret. Not the punch you didn't throw or the kicks you didn't land. She really wanted it. Every Slayer has a death wish. Even you.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I've found most of Schaubroeck's output on mp3, Frank. You wanna copy?

Nah, that's OK. Don't know much about the guy except what was in the TP Record guide and, of course, that he had an album called Ratfucker. I've got too much music I haven't listened to yet that I already own, sadly. I've got similar problems with movies (although thankfully in those cases it's more movies I haven't watched since I bought them as opposed to having never seen them, though that list is growing faster than I'd like).

Thanks mucho for the offer though.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

This is so nifty, I needed to share:

My bro and SiL are closing on a house today. Also, they probably won't be coming home for Christmas. My bro is a HUGE Thelonious Monk fan.

I figured I'd send them something for the house for Christmas, and I found this: [link] , which I'll frame (black, I think) and send them.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Very nice, Tep. He'll love that.

There's this Mingus one: [link] , and he really is Mingus' Bitch, but he's also Monk's Bitch, and I just like how stylized the Monk poster is.

It's a cool bit of graphic design.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

The font reminds me of Soviet propaganda posters.

Oh yeah - There's a definite Art Deco feel.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

I agree: go for the Monk.

"Dear Bro and SiL: For the new house. Merry Xmas!

"P.S. My invisible internet friends approve of this poster. You may hang it on your wall with pride."

Music Query:

What do you call the metal bars you hit on a glockenspiel or a vibraphone or a xylophone? Are they called keys, or what?
