And don't you ever stand for that sort of thing. Someone ever tries to kill you, you try to kill 'em right back! ... You got the right same as anyone to live and try to kill people.

The generation that could change the world is still looking for its car keys.

I vividly remember Rollins yelling at, and nearly beating the crap out of, someone who asked Black Flag to play T.V. Party. The guy was saved by the sheer ferocity of the mosh pit - Henry couldn't break into it.

Oh, I just found out about this. Richard the T fans rejoice. Or, if you're like me, rejoice with qualifications, knowing that you're going to drop a buncha cash on this not long after dropping a bunch of cash on the Peckinpah DVD box set that comes out in January.

I knew that topless lady had something up her sleeve. - John Prine

Happy birthday, sumi. There's a present for you at buffistarawk.

Oh, I just found out about this.

I thought I told you about www.richardthompsonforcompletists.com. It's been up there for a while. Anyway, it looks good & it's scheduled to come out right after my birthday so I'll actually have an answer when asked what I want. Not enough Linda for my tastes, but an intriguing selection... and no goddamned "Walking through a Wasted Land," the inclusion of which still infuriates me a dozen years after the release of Watching the Dark. Uh oh -- I just looked at the "Essential RT" disk and it contains "Gethsemane"! WTF! Alright, I'm not as young as I used to be, gotta keep the blood pressure under control, deep breath, and another... okay. On the blech side of okay, but I have calmed down. "How Will I Ever Be Simple Again," the song preceding "Al Bowlly's in Heaven" (also missing in action, no pun intended) on Daring Adventures, again fails to get the recognition it deserves. Bah!

Speaking of Richard Thompson, Sandy Denny was profiled by Ed Ward yesterday on Fresh Air. No real surprises but I thought David would be interested.

Ooh, thanks for the warning. Yes, she is officially my favorite vocalist. Though after reading the full profile on her in Mojo a few years back I'm glad I didn't know here in the falling-down-the-stairs years. (I'd always thought it was a freak accident that killed her rather than the inevitable result of many drunken tumbles.)

I always figured the question there was did she jump or was she pushed?

Joe, you'd shown me the site before, but I haven't visited for a while. I'm pretty excited about the box set, although some of the inclusions and exclusions are, I agree, rather strange. In fact, I'm working on gathering a pitch for Shoot Out The Lights for the 33 1/3 book series.
