I get confused. I remember everything. I remember too much, and... some of it's made up, and... some of it can't be quantified, and... there's secrets.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

TIDES ARE CURRENTLY RUNNING NEAR NORMAL ALONG THE MISSISSIPPI AND LOUISIANA COASTS IN THE AREAS AFFECTED BY KATRINA. TIDES IN THOSE AREAS WILL INCREASE UP TO 3 TO 4 FEET OVER THE NEXT 24 HOURS WITH LARGE WAVES ON TOP AND RESIDENTS THERE COULD EXPERIENCE FLOODING.

This is from NOAA regarding Rita. (sigh)

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

My dad is not too worried about New Orleans, and he thinks we'll be okay here.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I just learnt that it's recommended you don't go into the ocean here soon after the first rain of the season. So ita's not surfing this weekend.

Dear LORD. I watched Nip/Tuck, and am now watching House.

They are both plenty gross, but I hope nothing tops the doctor mouth kissing the 9 year old. I am so freaking skeeved.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Dana, I hope the whole Gulf Coast is spared anything too major.

Well, that's one person to not add to your stress, Dana. May you stay safe and sane.

Latest email from my aunt is that their place wil be full up (they live outside Elgin, I think, but lived in Houston until a few years ago) with a couple families/former kids she was the social services worker for as recently as a decade ago. Crazy driver uncle went down to get them. Poor them for the drive experience, but good on my aunt & uncle.

How come?

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I think the doctor was skeeved.

Because all the icky stuff washes into the ocean. Bacteria levels rise.

I think the doctor was skeeved.

Not as much as I am. I know I'm ill, but I wanted to throw up.

If I only had a brain...

I just learnt that it's recommended you don't go into the ocean here soon after the first rain of the season.

Why not?

Oh. Ick. Yeah, no surfing.
