Look, Angel, I know you've been out of the loop for a while, but I'm still evil. I don't do errands...unless they're evil errands.

What is even happening?

I didn't click, was that the Clint Malarchuk injury? Really horrible-looking and scary, but apparently not life-threatening, if I remember the reports on the scene at the time. The medical response was top-notch. Of course, if it had happened in some little arena in the backend of beyond, he would have been hosed.

Yes.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Though I wish it really were a true pizza farm.

It reminds me of the BBC special "Spaghetti Story":

A film story about the abundant spaghetti harvest in the Swiss valley of Ticino, near Locarno, because of the mild winter and the near elminiation of the spaghetti weevil.

(Aired April 1st, 1957. Note the date...)

Now tagless for your comfort.

Dani, what part of that hockey player was injured? It looks for all the world like a slashed carotid.

Um...helloooooo they skate on BLADES! I remember that when it happened. Scary stuff. But then I seem to recall a poor hocky player getting impaled on the posts for the goals before they had break-aways. It's a contact sport. It's dangerous.

And sexy.

What is even happening?

In other scary news...

SYDNEY (Reuters) - An Australian man built up a 40,000-volt charge of static electricity in his clothes as he walked, leaving a trail of scorched carpet and molten plastic and forcing firefighters to evacuate a building.

Frank Clewer, who was wearing a woolen shirt and a synthetic nylon jacket, was oblivious to the growing electrical current that was building up as his clothes rubbed together.

When he walked into a building in the country town of Warrnambool in the southern state of Victoria Thursday, the electrical charge ignited the carpet.

I heard about that on NPR this morning. Nuts! And makes me wonder what exactly perfect conditions are, given all those years dad used to mountainclimb wearing wool sweaters and a nylon parka.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

He's not the drummer for Spinal Tap, is he?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That pizza farm is cool.

I guess I'm not surprised drame is a real word, Sophia, but I couldn't get into that link, even with signing up for a free trial. Hmph.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Here's a cute Friday afternoon time waster: The Haggis Hurl.

And no, it's not a post-dinner event.

I know. I think the commercial carpeting, must have been the final spark. What season is it in Australia right now--late Winter, headed toward Spring?
