A Turkish Van, the only breed of cat that likes to swim and play in water.

Hmm.... I've known far too many cats who were not Turkish Vans that loved to swim and play in water to accept that as hard fact.

So? A breed characteristic speaks to generalized temperments. It doesn't mean that you won't see a turkish van that doesn't like water. It also doesn't mean that you won't find random other cats that like water. You get down to the micro level, all sorts of differences can be seen.

I think there are types of cat in the wild that actively like water, but I can't remember what they are.

I think tigers like the water. Not sure about lions.

I don't know why I'm getting like this. I think it's mostly sleep dep and I guess being off my ADs for a couple days. I just feel so pathetic!

My sister's cat loves to curl up in the sink, and if you turn the water on she'll just give you a dirty look and let it slide off. But I think if confronted with immersion you would lose an eye or something.

Hey, that's Lum the Mad's page. Hilarious guy, but gamer-specific humour. He also toned the industry criticism down a lot after he s/o/l/d/o/u/t/ took a job with one of the big game companies.

My cats have run the gamut. Most didn't like being wet, but only a few turned into furry blenders. And then there is my friend's cat, who insists on showering every morning. I'm not kidding. He really likes it if he gets a shampoo, but she doesn't usually bother unless he hooks a claw into her leg. He even has his own towel.

Now that, my friends, is a freakish cat.
