So what are people doing for the weekend?
I'm headed Santa Cruz to cheer the DH's frisbee team. (Don't tell him, but I'll actually be cheering the fact that it is the end of the season and I'll have to myself on the weekends!)
'Just Rewards (2)'
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Rep. Baker of Baton Rouge is overheard telling lobbyists: "We finally cleaned up public housing in New Orleans. We couldn't do it, but God did."
Ho.Lee.Fuck.
So what are people doing for the weekend?
Tonight: Seething with rage at my stupid monopoly of a worthless cable company. Despite my 6 calls, 3 before the scheduled appointment and 3 after they were late, confirming each time the phone number I should be contacted at, it turns out they called my home number and then cancelled the appointment because I wasn't home. Argh! And then they didn't even bother to apologize for fucking up when I called to complain, just scheduled me a new appointment for tomorrow. If there was anywhere else to go, I'd be doing it right now. (I mean, there's DSL, but the speeds are lower. Plus, I don't want to deal with the hassle of getting a dish for TV.) At least my internet connection has miraculously fixed itself so I'm not sitting around stewing with no net connection. I just want them out here to find out why it's lost connection 3 times in the last two weeks, the most recent time for 2 days, before it happens again.
Saturday: Hopefully get my internet connection looked at and permanently fixed, then going to a friend's Divorce Party. (Long story).
Sunday: Running my D&D game. Also, trying to convince one of my friends to start running a game instead, as I haven't actually been involved in a game I wasn't running for over two years and I'm getting burned out.
Now picturing shrift in kayle's dress from Firefly and making a ribbon bouquet for the bride to be and playing shower games.
Tomorrow: Go to art and wine fair in Mountain View. Swan about drinking and admiring.
What a disgusting person the reverend is! But everyone here thinks that, I'm sure.

God, through a spokeswoman, said "Damn! Knew I should have aimed at Baton Rouge!"

Nice. Hope he gets the firepit with extra brimstone.

Tonight: Mariners game with dw and Annabel.
Tomorrow: RWA meeting, followed by lunch with writer types.
Sunday: First church service with choir since the spring. Writers conference planning meeting.
A bit busier than ideal, but it's baseball, singing, and hanging out with writers. I like.
One more for the caboose on the Train to Hell:
While on the tour [of the Astrodome] with top administration officials from Washington, including U.S. Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao and U.S. Treasury Secretary John W. Snow, DeLay stopped to chat with three young boys resting on cots.
The congressman likened their stay to being at camp and asked, "Now tell me the truth boys, is this kind of fun?"
