Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

No, I'm serious. There's no better procrastination than something that's actually useful for someone else.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

ita, take many pictures of Africa for us! And if you get psychotic on the plane, be sure to take pictures of that too.

If I only had a brain...

Be very very very very very very HAPPPY, ita.

In Africa.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

And if you get psychotic on the plane, be sure to take pictures of that too.

Yes, this.

Also, this

be very very very very very very HAPPPY, ita.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

ita! You're off to Kenya, right? Have fun!

What, serious? Jealous now. Um. Have fun in Africa. Try not to get bitten by stuff.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I did a whole bunch of packing!

I could probably have stood to pay a little more attention, but the bit where I eliminated everything that meant I'd have to take a white bra -- genius. Then I put in just about all of my swimsuits. So it was kind of a tradeoff.

Camera bag's packed, meds are packed, toiletries are packed save what I need to buy tomorrow, clothes are packed, shoes are packed save some rearranging that's going to have to be done last minute, power adapters are packed.

No socks yet, or books, or sketch pad, and the transfer of my normal purse into the carry-on bag is obviously yet unachieved.

I need to nap.

I'm not going to bother cutting or bleaching my hair. It's just ... like work. I need to nap.

Great. My SLR batteries are dead. And I have one spare. Must make a note.

Try not to get bitten by stuff.

I will heed both this advice, and the example set by those before me.

ita! You're off to Kenya, right?

Please tell me I'm not the only one with the Kenya song in my head (though slightly edited):

Where can you see ita?
Only in Kenya!
Come to Kenya;
we've got ita!

Forget Norway!

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Well, not now. I have Johnny Cash playing on my fauxpod, and yet thanks to you I just hear him singing Only in Kenya.

He's making a better fist of it than you might expect.

Hey, I am behind in Bitches, Steph. I hope your uncle is okay.

Thanks, honey. I'm sure he will be.

Now I'm going to bed for real.
