I'm sending all my maternity wear, which is actually plus-sized real clothes (as I couldn't tolerate any of the maternity outfits I saw). Also, all the clothes Mal has outgrown, and whatever else I can find.
It's little enough, but it might help someone.
Aww. Bob Denver just died.
Just saw this post by CNN's Drew Griffin at the CNN blog page:
I am stunned by an interview I conducted with New Orleans Detective Lawrence Dupree. He told me they were trying to rescue people with a helicopter and the people were so poor they were afraid it would cost too much to get a ride and they had no money for a "ticket." Dupree was shaken telling us the story. He just couldn't believe these people were afraid they'd be charged for a rescue.
Um, hi. Back. Had a great time. Very tired. Disappointed to find that reality is still here, waiting for me.
Interview with Adam Savage (of Mythbusters):

Yay for you being back, and the great time.
Feh on reality.
I just talked to the Mother Superior of the Ursuline convent here in town (I do freelance work for them; it wasn't just a random phone call), and she said that the Ursuline convent in NOLA -- which has been there since the 1700s, damn -- just got evacuated Sunday.
For some reason, it really bothers me that nuns got left to fend for themselves for a week after the hurricane. You don't fuck with nuns, you know?
(Just to be clear -- no, I don't think nuns are more deserving of rescue than the elderly, or infants, or anyone else. It just pings me hard for some reason.)
Meanwhile, back in OMGHAWT land, we have Steve Buscemi.
I think I just threw up in my mouth a little. He's creepy-scary-stalker-type icky.
Yay, JZ!! I've just forwarded that address and list, as well as the address from Herself for larger-sized clothes, on to a few coworkers who expressed interest.
By the way, Kathy, in addition to posting in my lj, I've sent the info you gathered to everyone in my company.
Another way to help, for people who wnt to support animal rescue efforts: [link]
I've got a box of clothes and toiletry samples ready to go to the address I saw in Press, but with my schedule, I probably won't be able to get it to the post office until tomorrow. It always amazes me how doing stuff like this does wonders for my personal well-being. It's such a little thing in the grand scheme of things, but I feel so much better just being able to help in a concrete way. It's been driving me nuts that I can't really offer a place to stay, but I live in a one-bedroom, with cats, far, far away from the Gulf Coast, so probably offering a couch is not all that helpful.
Hi, Dana! I hoped you were very, very happy.
