Happy birthday to Frannie.
Easy root canal/recovery~ma to you Perkins.
Urgh. I seem to have lost an earpiece off my sunglasses. A hunt through my office and the path I took coming into the building this morning has produced nothing.
Slashfood is looking for food bloggers
Ooh baby! Hot curry on noodle action!
Slashfood is looking for a couple of obsessive foodies who want to translate their passion for great eating into great blogging.
Thanks all. I'm off to meet my doom now.
shrift, you know the solution, don't you? Shank them. It's the only way, really.
The art of supermodel retouching
Tons of photos of supermodels - when you mouse over them you see the original, unretouched photo. I knew that photos of models are retouched, but actually seeing how much is changed is kinda' freaky.
Enough Oz for you Jesse!
popping in to thank everyone for the ~ma. i just posted an update in lj, that i will parse down here.
my aunt is still in the ICU. they have her on a ventilator and are heavily sedating her. her eye is swollen shut from either grease getting into it or the fire blowing into it. we're not sure. they're putting antibiotics in it. she has 2nd and 3rd degree burns on her face, neck, hands and arms. not to mention smoke inhalation. they say her vitals are good and she should pull through this.
my sister fractured the bone between her first and second toe on her left foot. we spent about 3 hours in the ER last night and she has an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon in about a half hour.
meanwhile, my nephew has become a hometown hero. we've had one of the major news stations, the tennesseean newspaper and our town's local paper here interviewing him today. since he was the one who got his baby sister and dog out of the house and ran to the neighbor's house to get the fire extinguishers when my sister got hurt. the fire department said if they hadn't gotten those fire extinguishers the damage would have been much worse.
