I mean, let's say you did kill us. Or didn't. There could be torture. Whatever. But somehow you found the goods. What would your cut be?

Man, I loved the part where Brown said "We are going to get these people's lives back in order," and Koppel said "Mr. Brown, some of these people are *dead.* They're beyond your help."

Go, Ted!

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Cindy, Democratic leader Harry Reid is the person quoted.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Bob just said to me over the phone: "at least we will finally, definitively know who is responsible for this disaster when he or she is awarded the Medal of Freedom."

In non-hurricane news, I just saw an ad on Sci-Fi Channel -- the good people who brought us Mansquito (or so I assume) now bring you Frankenfish!!!!

No, for real.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

noting the "contrast between how the people of NY reacted after 9/11 and the people of New Orleans."

Yes, because all of Manhattan and most of the surrounding countryside for miles and miles were completely devastated on 9/11.

Oh. Wait. No they weren't.

(That is a comparison I'm getting very tired of.)

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

In non-hurricane news, I just saw an ad on Sci-Fi Channel -- the good people who brought us Mansquito (or so I assume) now bring you Frankenfish!!!!

Yeah, I just mentioned that in Boxed Set.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Sooner or later, local agencies are going to say "To hell with FEMA, we're going down there on our own recognizance."

I just saw one bottled water company say that on the news. "So we called the municipalities directly and they were glad to hear from us."

On a COMPLETELY shallow note: Is there any way to fuck a human voice? Marty Savage on NBC has just won my heart. I hope Peter Jennings can forgive me for moving on so quickly but my GOD.

Silence means security silence means approval

I believe, but I'm not completely sure, that the acreage of devastation around the WTC is about the same acreage as the Superdome complex.

Our wings are not tired.

Some governmental bodies not so bad. The California Senate became the first legislative chamber in the nation to pass a measure that would legalize same-sex marriage. [link]
