Yes, it's terribly simple. The good guys are always stalwart and true, the bad guys are easily distinguished by their pointy horns or black hats, and, uh, we always defeat them and save the day. No one ever dies, and everybody lives happily ever after.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Is this the satellite picture whose authenticity bon was wondering about? Or was it this (real one)?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

No.

eta: and on ita's edit, yes.

Hang on - lemme find it....

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

It was the real one, or one like it. And note that even the "false" picture is a real hurricane pic, not someone's photoshop baby. It's just not Katrina.

It's unearthly how pretty those are.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

"I don't know if it's the Governor's problem, or the President's problem, but somebody needs to get their ass on the plane, and do something."

I watched some of Anderson Cooper interviewing Sen. Landrieu on CNN last night, and he was berating her about the fact that the politicians seem to be spending more time patting each other on the back than actually doing anything useful. He was still irate later reporting on Larry King's show.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

-t, so glad to see you. And so sorry. But happy to know that you are safe.

President Bush said on GMA last night that other countries have offered, but the country could deal with this by themselves.

ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?

No, we can't. WE AREN'T. There is no dealing. In related news, I am touch typing as I have suddenly gone BLIND WITH RAGE.

I am very happy to have Natter to talk about this stuff and get links to things. I would go mad without it. Which I can't afford, now, seeing that I am currently BLIND WITH RAGE.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Is there online video of Ted Koppel's interview with the head of FEMA? My co-workers want to see Koppel kicking some ass.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

According to that google map, my house may have escaped flooding. Houses near me did, apparently.

And now for the bad news - my grandmother had a stroke last night. She's in ICU and the dorctors are asking what kind of religious observances she'd like, so it doesn't sound good. I guess it's good that I'm on my way there, but I feel really bad for my mom. Grandma's 85 and has a variety of health problems that she just barely manages to keep from overwhelming her, I guess one of them got the upper hand.

Oh, -t. I'm sorry. You already have too much to deal with.
