"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Timelies. Finally got caught up here after my long weekend away.

I got the rest of my furniture in my new place. It only took me 7 months. I really hope I can stay in this place for at least a year or two.

Anyway, lots of vibes heading the direction of NOLA. That's scary stuff.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

The water had to be 15 feet deep. How do you not see that?

If there was a dip in the road, and he started out on top of it.

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

How do you not see that?

I can understand that, actually. When rain is not only lowering visibility but turning everything a uniformly gray color, and the rest of the road has lots of water on it anyway, it can be difficult to tell "road covered in water" from "lots and lots of water because the road goes down here and the water does not!"

Silence means security silence means approval

WWL == CBS affiliate in NOLA. They've been broadcasting on the internets 24/7 during the storm.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

Aha. They are so cool, they do not need a 4th call letter.

Hi, DW, by the way. Do you know it took me like an hour of "DW" posts to figure out that you were not "dear wife" or some other cheeky nickname? I am slow at that sort of thing.

Anyway welcome (as of, what, Saturday?) to Natter. Let the time suck begin!

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Say, dw (or anyone cssly inclined, really), speaking of css, have you seen: [link] ? We used it to convince the powers that be of the glories of style sheets.

What is even happening?

Oh, pffft. I saw someone mentioning Dylan earlier, but thought I'd skipped something Susan posted while I was away. Nutty, thanks for confessing your cluelessness, and saving me from my own.

Welcome dw!

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

(I thought dw was someone's DW too! What am I missing?)

edit: obviously x-posty!
