Early: So is it still her room when it's empty? Does the room, the thing, have purpose? Or do we -- what's the word? Simon: I really can't help you. Early: The plan is to take your sister. Get the reward, which is substantial. 'Imbue.' That's the word.

I've got this muscle in my jaw leading towards my ear that keeps spasming every time I take a drink. It's really strange and very annoying.

Want a way to freak yourself out? At some point earlier in the week, I removed a dead lightbulb from my bedside lamp, and then got distracted by something else. And then I forgot about it. So when I went to turn it on this evening, and discovered it gone, I first thought the bulb exploded. But no base inside. I had a good five minutes wondering what sort of nefarious person would plot to removed my bedroom lightbulb.

Oh yeah. Me. Old bulb is in the bathroom trash.

I know I do this. Especially with mundane little stuff like changing lightbulbs. This is one reason I've always been the sort of person that must finish a project, large or small, in one fell swoop, else it gets all weird. I guess this means I'm kinda flaky. But usually organization saves me from myself.

Our wings are not tired.

{{Dana}} It is easier being in the midst of it than it is when we watch from afar. Nothing to do but worry. Blah. May it rain itself out before hitting land. The last couple updates have not shown any strengthening. And it is still going directly west. Not that anyone else deserves it, but I hope it takes its time before it turns north.

Silence means security silence means approval

my family is going to be fine.

That's the thought you should hold onto. Because a lot of people aren't going to be fine if what I'm reading in the NOAA discussion is correct.

The water temperature, the eyewall replacement cycle wrapping up, the lack of shear... I think we're looking at the possibility of an Andrew/Hugo scale storm.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

There was just a very large bird I am pretty sure was a hawk (it disappeared while I was getting the binoculars) circling around the nearby canyon. It wass cool.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I just found a rewards card I thought I'd lost. It still has $60 on it.

Off to Zappos.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I propped up my porch again. At least with the termite treatment over, I can hire professionals to build me a new one.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I lost almost all of today to rampant napping, which I apparently needed far more than going to see a new movie. Also, after lunch I went to Pier One and despite forgetting my gift card yet again bought what may be the most comfortable throw pillow in the history of the universe.

Why is it I only ever think of going to the local Italian restaurant on Saturday night when it's most expensive? Any other night I can get a 3-course meal for $22 or less.

For the same reason I decided a dinner of balsamic on greens and a ginger-soy tuna steak was the only thing I wanted when vinegar always makes my jaw muscles tweak and I already had a tweaking muscle. Humans are strange.

And now I literally have a KNOT at the corner of my jaw. It is kind of freaking me out. Going to apply some heat, then ice.

Humans are strange.

I was at a festival of world cultures in my town today. Or Festival of World Cultures, depending on how you look at it, I guess. 100,000 people, apparently, which is a lot where I'm from. Lots of good acts, much dancing, but I couldn't get into my local. Which is less fun. Went to a friend's new place for wine instead. We could still hear music from the main stage, which was nice. I should probably got to bed now.

Edited because I may be slightly tipsy.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I tried to nap. It should have happened. It didn't.

It's a sad day when you're too tired to sleep.
