Does bacon or sausage and waffles or pancakes work for you?

Yes, but those are breakfast foods. Chicken is not. Fried chicken even less so. And there isn't enough color contrast. No, really. It's a weird thing I have about pale foodstuff. I don't like chicken and mashed potatos together for the same reason. Cauliflower wouldn't work either. Too Much Pale. Ditto white gravy. My head just starts tweaking thinking about it. I realize this is strange.

Swouncing

OK, I'm off home to see what I can actually have for lunch (um, can I still call it lunch if it's 9:30pm?).

For the naming of the next Natter thread, I'm going to suggest something that has the word "lunch" in it.

Lunch lunch lunch. Nope, the word still didn't lose meaning.

I think you need to come visit us this fall, sarameg.

I wish. At this point, I'm not sure I'm going to be ready to take off time for thanksgiving.

Throw in that mac and cheese?

WHY.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It's a weird thing I have about pale foodstuff.

Between you and Polgara -- ::shakes head::

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I can't quite grasp not grasping the appeal of chicken and waffles. There's fried chicken! And waffles! What's not to love?

When Pete & I are in L.A. in October, we are BY GOD going to Rosco's. I will stamp my little feet and growl if we don't.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Lunch today was a Great Steak turkey "philly" with all of the veggies on top and fries liberally doused in vinegar. I didn't get dinner last night, so I felt okay splurging.

Ideal workday lunch would be salmon & spinach salad, potato salad, and a popover from Brothers' Deli across the street. I love their stuff, but the salad isn't as filling as a sandwich, and they are expensive. However, they do have the best pastrami this side of the Mississippi (it's flown in from a kosher butcher in the Bronx, and the bagels come in from H&H).

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

OK, now I want chicken & waffles & mac & cheese.

Cheese! Complex carbs! It writes its own glowing review, it does.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Lunch lunch lunch. Nope, the word still didn't lose meaning.

Heh. That could be the thread title....

Thrive to spite them

I had left over pasta for lunch. it was eh. now I want something sweet, but I'm refraining. I have Dark Chocolate Twix at home (on sale at the grocery store for $.33 each).

Ideal lunch would be going to the seafood place and having fried fish, cheese gris, cole slaw, and hushpuppies. However that takes too long, so I've only done that once. Otherwise Italian brought in.
