Hey, all (and by "all", I probably just mean "Gus")
I've been watching Atlantis from last season to keep the First Night Alone in New Housing demons.
I've also been making a shopping list. The first shopping trip of a new kitchen. I never remember what to buy.
I have learned tonight from The Dead Zone: Russian guys are robots.
Not according to The Tick vs. Education (which just aired tonight, and I've never seen it before, and according to some guides I've seen was the last produced animated episode). Russian guys are evil soft serve ice cream assasins.
Which totally makes sense to me.
Except I think Edlund has Soviet issues since he also included an old KGB kill robot in the live action Tick.
In other Soviet news: Gulags! I glanced at a book about them today. Apparently there were quite a lot of them. Did you know the word "Gulag" is an acronym? It stands for something in Russian for "central oversight agency for all those people we keep in prison camps."
Can you imagine how much it sucked to live in the Soviet Union from the 30s through the 50s? Oy. Unless of course you were a high ranking party member. Then it was caviar and good times.
Continuing that riff, one of the hip new records of the year is by Regina Spector titled
Soviet Kitsch
which is an evocative title that says something very important though I'm not sure what.
My feelings on Stargate (both the original flavor and the Aquarium) are this: I suspect it is only merely mediocre and people are starved for Science Fiction on TV and now everybody is going to scamper toward Battlestar Galactica.
Though in fairness, fandom seems to be flocking toward the Aquarium show, particularly ex-Trekkies for some reason.
By "all" you mean "Gus and beth_b and Scrappy", which is the title of a porn DVD I would buy.
First season
Atlantis
will demolish all house demons. This is a known fact.
Obviously, the lesson of the day is that Russians are evil. We should have killed the Communists when we had the chance, dagnabbit.
I don't think we ever had the chance. Unless if we didn't mind getting killed ourselves.
Oh, and the Russians love their children too. Sting said so.
My brain is still all wore out from reading HP6 all in one gulp yesterday so I sadly can not contribute to this political disussion.
I ate too much food to really care if the Russians are evil. but I will burp in their general direction if that will help
OK! The "starvation" thing: I am down with this.
Battlestar Galactica
is the real deal. DavidS has like, observational skillz and stuff.
