I blame postmodernism for making the text an excuse for theorizing about the author's political/sexual/sociological beliefs.
Hmm, I always thought postmodernism was a direct off-shoot of semiotic which was the origin of the "myth of intentionality". I could be confusing it with something else, though.
But I blame postmodernism for most things.
Can't argue with that, though.
Hippo birdies Empress!!!!!
Ack, at 7 AM it's already sticky and icky here.
It is thoroughly UDI (aka utterly disgusting) out there today, in that "it may as well be raining" kinda way. However, as long as there is cloud cover and some semblance of breeze, it may be tolerable. If the sun comes out, it's going to be nasty(-ier).

But at least the sun can dry out the air somewhat! Here, anyway, it's just damp and yuck out.
You know what bugs me? People not emailing back. I only work at this job Tues/Weds. On last Weds I emailed three people about two different things. I figured when I got in today, there would be responses waiting for me. Yeah, NSM. For another job, I heard through something on Friday through the grapevine that significantly affects what I'm doing. Did anyone contact me directly? No. Have I recieved a response to the email I sent yesterday about it? No.
Aggravating, I tell you.
This is why I just post here instead of working ever.
Happy Birthday, Aimee!
Timelies to everyone else.
I haven't read the Firefly essays yet, but I expect I will eventually. Although when essayists need to rent a truck to ship their own agendas to the table, my eye rolls do get rather pronounced.
waves madly to JZ
Oh yes.
Bids a fond adieu to the lovely JZ.
It was great getting to meet you on Sunday.
You know what bugs me? When people keep asking you for more information despite your assurance that you know less than they do, and they know everything you do. That, in fact, if they've had any contact with the sender outside the forwarded e-mail, they are now the experts and to leave me alone.
Also, people should read their e-mails, so I don't have to point out that they haven't in my defense.
But, yay! No migraine!
Yay for no migraine, ita!
Happy Birthday, Aims!!
You know what I hate? Scorecards. Actually, I probably wouldn't hate them if I didn't have to prepare them each period. But since I do, HATE!

That would bug me too, Jesse. Maybe you could remind them of your schedule, when you're asking for something via email.

Scorecards, Nicole?
I'm glad you're migraine-free, ita.
How can you tell the players without a scorecard?
I happened to have NPR on as the shuttle was landing this morning, so I got to breath a little sigh of relief when it got down safely. How much do I like the fact that
nothing special
seems to being made of the fact that the mission commander -- who took the controls for the final descent -- is a woman?
