erika, not a puppy (& hope your mom is fine) but have you seen www.baltimorecrime.blogspot.com?

Just ran across a mention of it in a local free paper.

Cat seems better.

Queen of the Drive-By

Hi. Has anyone finished The Half Blood Prince yet? I just finished and I HAVE to talk about it with someone. I'm cursing the fact that I read so damned fast, I don't know anyone who's finished. Please? Anyone?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

CV, check the Literary thread.

What is even happening?

Hi Cybervixen, people are talking about it, in white font, in the literary thread. It starts here: Anne W. "We're Literary 2: To Read Makes Our Speaking English Good" Jul 16, 2005 7:54:20 am PDT but gets to the juicy pretty quickly.

Always Anti-fascist!

No! How is this possible? I'm slipping like Rove in a sauna, yo. (Crime must make me stupid, to give me that mental image...oof.) I knew my life was missing something. Now, if they call it "All these mopes in bracelets and not one of 'em's named Osama.", I'll never miss a day. New thing I learned that cool people already know: The use of "sick" as a compliment. As in Hugely Talented Hoop Star takes the court and cornerboy characters say "Whoa. That boy's sick!" and that he's the "illest" thing out there. I suspect I was born on the wrong coast. ETA: Sarameg, that blog is sick! Wish my city had one...I'd be done with my book in a minute and a half. It's wrong that that makes me happy, hmm? No, I'm sad for my adopted city, but at least they are trying to respond, unlike Phoenix, with its one mantra of "Om...Not!LA! Om..." And I feel like "Dude, I've noticed." The worst thing a local right-wing type can say around here, and they think it a giant burn is "If you don't like it, go back to San Francisco!" Oh, no, don't torture me like that!

I used sick the other night, in just that way, erika (about baseball, though). You're making me feel cool and youthful, momentarily anyhow.

Hee. It seems it only started this year, so... I saw mention of it (just above the Mobtown Shank) and thought of you.

It hasn't rained all day today. But it neeeeeds to. My sunglasses fogged up when I took them from inside (75) to outside.

Always Anti-fascist!

My boyfriend says you are, Cindy. My George...George.(George being kind of a generic for boyfriend in DC, I guess. as in HE: Hey, baby...

SHE: Go away. I got a George.
)

OMG, Sarameg, guess I'm stuck with "It was really bloody. I thought of you."
Stupid accurate reputations!

Nah, it is more "hey, someone as obsessed with B'more as my mom!" But I wouldn't sent THAT to her, cause...no need to freak out mom. She knows the reality, I have no need to remind her of it.
