You two carried me through that war. Now I need you to carry me just a little bit further. If you can.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Happy Birthday, juliana!

And Happy Belated Birthdays to Ouise, and jengod and Paul.

Also, Happy Anniversary to Disneyland, which opened 50 years ago today.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

DavidS will be able to answer your question, beth! I can remember those records, and in fact IIRC the "artist" did those records from the 50s on... alas, I can't remember the name, of course. You might look through the song listings for Dr. Demento collections as I'm sure some of them ended up in there!

In other news: gronk.

I hope people allergic to shellfish aren't allergic to chitosan.

I'd guess no since the article refers to chitosan as the second most ubiquitous substance on earth -- they'd be allergic to a lot more than shellfish if chitosan was the allergen.

I thought iodine was the main allergen in shellfish.

I know they've had those bandages for a bit and are using them in Iraq, but I had no idea they were shrimp. That's both cool, and "damn, another way to denude the ocean."

What is even happening?

Well, given all the frozen and canned shellfish on the market, maybe it'll mostly just make more use of the creatures already being removed from the ocean.

Probably not, huh.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

They've been using that stuff for people with cartilage problems for ages. I know my dad's taken it for years for his knees.

Happy Birthday to Ouise, jengod and Paul!

I had forgotten that the big drawback of booty calls is crashing hard after you do the Walk of Shame home in the am. And no coffee in sight!

Something occurred to me last night and while I realize this will likely re-open the pecAn/pecAhhhhn discussion I posit the following theory:

Regardless of ones general pronunciation proclivities regarding the nuts them selves, pies, danish, etc. the respective pronunciations of the ice cream and the cookie are "Butter Pecahhhhhn" and "PecAn Sandies".

Discuss.
