Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

HP5 was a lot of Harry being a whiny teenager, Dumbledore avoiding Harry for plot purposes, and Sirius getting whacked. Plus Neville grew a pair.

Huh. Either I was very distracted in 1998, or I've just forgotten that there was a Godzilla made that year. With Matthew Broderick, Hank Azaria, Joan Cusak , the red head from News Radio, Manhattan, and a big-ass monster, yet. But now it's on my TV.

I'm hoping my friend will bring the copy of HP6 that I'm almost sure she has by now to the beach with her in three weeks for me to read. I should probably mention that to her. Oh, hey, beach in three weeks - yay.

Yep, Steph. I remember those bits. But there are characters in this one Luna? that were in 5 that I just don't remember.

Enh. This one feels like another place holder book so far.

(none of that is super spoilery)

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Army medics dress bullet wounds with the same gauze bandage you have in your medicine cabinet at home, the same gauze that’s been used for centuries. But all gauze can do is soak up blood. It does not actually stop bleeding, and is useless for staving off the types of injuries that can cause someone to bleed to death in a few minutes.

But now, scientists have created a bandage that is actually able to clot a bullet wound in less than a minute. The bandages are laced with a mixture of ground shrimp shells and vinegar, a concoction that has been found to clot blood instantly. The key ingredient in the shrimp shells is called chitosan.

“Chitosan is a ubiquitous substance,” says Dr. Kenton Gregory, a cardiologist from Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, OR. “It’s the second most abundant substance on the planet.” Chitosan is found in the shells of other crustaceans besides shrimp, and also in insect shells.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

Better be extra-careful not to get shot in the World Without Shrimp.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I hope people allergic to shellfish aren't allergic to chitosan.

Kat, Loony Lovegood? She's kinda crazy and believes in fabulous mythical beasts and was the only other one who could see the thestrals at the beginning of Book 5 -- I believe she was in the Climactic Fight Of Doom at the Ministry at the end.

That's spoilery only for 5, which I guess means not at all, but hey -- Kat whitefonted, so I did.

Emily, see, didn't remember ANY of that. Which proves some things. 2 years between books in a series is a long time. (it's been 2 right?) and I felt like 5 was just passing time, filler. and I feel much the same about this one so far.

Though at page 511, I'm willing to expand my ideas a bit.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

It is wrong that just sitting in my house, unless right in front of the A/C or fan, results in sweatiness. WRONG.

throat still sore and slightly swollen. wah!

Kat, even I don't want to see wedding crashers. Vince or no Vince, it doesn't look worth it. That could be my Owen hate talking.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

For some reason, I'm resistant to starting the new Harry Potter. I think it's because I'm hip-deep in another really good YA novel at the moment, and I'm afraid HP will suffer by comparision
