'Day' is a vestigial mode of time measurement based on solar cycles. It's not applicable. I didn't get you anything.

What is even happening?

Unable to resist taking a swipe at Pitt's recently peroxide-enhanced scalp, Aniston snaps: " Billy Idol called – he wants his look back."

Actually, Billy Idol stole his look from — never mind...

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

You know, I'm usually pretty good at coming up with justifications for seemingly inane behavior, but shrift's one-liner client has me stumped.

There are Certain People out there in the work force who seem to have absolutely no concept of email etiquette. I deal with this person daily. Today I simply had to vent my RAWR!!!! before I tried to strangle a Certain Person through my monitor.

She either does not understand exactly how rude her communications are, or she doesn't care. A coworker of mine already pointed out that the crazyurgentnownow demands she's been making today? Didn't even include a single thank you.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Grandma E is more the type to hang out with the sinners and help the poor and sick because Jesus did that and she wants her life to emulate his.

I love Grandma E.

When I was in 10th grade in Michigan one of the girls at the lunch table asked me what my religion was. Since she was probably one of the first non-teacher people to talk to me that day, I figured I might as well answer. "I'm agnostic," I said. She drew back as if I'd told her I had bubonic plague and said, Oh, I'm so sorry you're going to hell." Then she left.

Moving down to the Bible Belt was less of a culture shock than you might think.

My folks are mid-range Methodists. Dad's getting more devout as he gets older, and is really enjoying studying the Bible and researching the time and place. Mom seems to be relaxing a bit about religious things.

While I'm a paganish UU, my sister went the other way, and is in a small, independent Baptist-ish church. She seems to work with a more literal reading of the Bible than we were raised with. For example, she doesn't believe in women preaching in the church.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I am watching the Gnome Mobile between chores today.

Based on a story by Upton Sinclair!

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Urgh, I have one like this! Makes unclear requests, then speaks to you in a voice letting you know that You're Very Stupid when you ask for clarification. (But she does, at least, generally say thank you when you fulfill her request. And I don't have to deal with her every day. Guess I only know a teeny fraction of your pain). t empathetic

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Nope. More of a First Against the Wall When the Revolution Comes.

You're gonna need a bigger wall.
