It's a remora, dimwit.

Last week, several of Almanzo's friends asked him to help another friend move on Sunday, but they did it in such an odd way, and with knowledge that he's living the country on Thursday, that he figured it was a clumsy attempt at a surprise going-away party. Nope, they had him carting heavy furniture around all afternoon. Grrr. Urgh.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Does anyone prefer to get their change back in a bill-hammock? You know when the person at the register piles the change onto the bills and holds the bill by the two short edges?

I'd like everyone to give me my change separately from my bills, either before or afterwards. First thing I do with the hammock is pour off the coins anyway.

right. what happened to giving you the change in the palm of your hand first, then allowing you to grasp the bills with your fingers. or better yet, waiting for you to put the change away and THEN giving you the bills.

Hate the hammock. Change first, then the bills. Also, don't rush me out the door before I've properly put my coins and cash away, please.

I hate this because the coins always slip off and end up on the floor. The less I have to bend down these days, the better.

I'm further into The OC season 1 discs. The Anna/Oliver eps were so excruciating. I'm glad I didn't tune in for those or I'd never have stayed. Good laws!

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Change first, then bills. Definitely. When I worked at the grocery store, I actually had more than one customer thank me for giving them their change in that order.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yaeh, I'm happy to step away from the register while I get my money together, but that's way easier with coins first.

ION, someone just said to the dean's assistant, "We're from the government, and we're here to help," and she didn't laugh.

When I worked retail, I was trained to count the change back, so starting with the coins was the only thing you could do. It is very sensible.
