I took half an Ambien a while ago and instead of putting me to sleep like it does 19 out of 20 times, it made me just not care. I am quite relaxed and reading badfic instead. And I don't care. Perhaps I will eventually fall asleep from the ennui.

Not exactly, echidna comes from the Greek for hedgehog, being echinos. (Also the root for echinacea.) The Echidna of Greek mythology was a venomous serpent. It's possible that the people that named the echidna got their translation wrong.

The laptop lives on the bed here too. It makes posting while you should be sleeping feel like you are multitasking instead of just giving up on the sleep.
