We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

My most useful mnemonic (at least for me) was taught to me by a supervisor I had in a college job. When I complained that I always had to write down both "seperate" and "separate" and look at them to figure out which was the correct spelling, he told me to "Always remember that there is 'a rat' in 'separate'!" I've never had problems spelling that word since.

What is even happening?

I just remember that one because "par" is part of part, which is what you're doing to things you're separating--parting them.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Boys go to Mars, to get more candy bars.
Girls go to Jupiter, to get more stupider.

What is even happening?

Well, that's because boys can't get more stupid.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

he told me to "Always remember that there is 'a rat' in 'separate'!" I've never had problems spelling that word since.

Similarly, I have "Oh, CeeCee, you are red" for occurred.

May I have a drink? Alcoholic of course.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

I can't remember the order of Jupiter through Neptune without the mnemonic. You get beyond the asteroid belt and I get totally lost.

Turn left at Europa.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

The first mnemonic I learned was at the beginning of 1st grade:

"Lady, I owe you some sugar"

except the person saying it had a speach impediment, so he says it, "A E, I owe you some sugar." For remembering the vowels (except Y. Y is always the exception.)
