Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

DH called me in the living room to "see something scary." As soon as I saw that the Tivo was paused mid-commercial, I knew he'd show me the Target "Baby Got Back" ad.

He thinks the scariest part is that some of the kids in the ad could've been conceived to the song...

Is that honeymoon or non-specific vacation (or other) trip? Either way - very cool.

Honeymoon.

Are you ready to be strong?

I'm way more excited about the honeymoon than I am about the wedding. Is that wrong?

Nah. I mean, wedding, yay! But, also, fabulous trip with your fabulous spouse to celebrate your marriage? Woo!!

Are you going to Tokyo only or to other places as well? And for how long?

Are you ready to be strong?

Five days in Tokyo, five days in Kyoto (w/ a day trip to Nara).

Nah. I mean, wedding, yay! But, also, fabulous trip with your fabulous spouse to celebrate your marriage? Woo!!

Yeah, there's something sad about weddings. Something happy about marriage.

What is even happening?

Fun! Do you ever play what we call the ABC game? You pick a category and go in a circle; if it's animals, the first person says aardvark, the second says bear, etc. No time limit and no clapping, though. We play it at dinner all the time.

Oh, no. I will suggest it, though. I think Julia and Chris could handle that, now. A few years before we started 20 Questions, we played "The Guessing Game." I had all three children at the doctor's office, and they'd put us in the exam room, and then seemed to forget about us. The kids were too young for 20 Questions then, so I made up the Guessing Game as its idiot twin. You think of something, and give a hint, and people try to guess it. If they make too many guesses that are too far off, you give another hint. And you don't have to restrict your answers to the guesses, to either "yes" or "no." Sometimes, Chris still prefers the Guessing Game, so when we play, it's always the Thinker's Choice as to format.

I'm sorry, but I can't get irate with anyone who can say:

So let me say defensively at the outset that I love animals, and I particularly love goofy animals like penguins, platypuses, ostriches, giraffes, sloths, armadillos and kangaroos who seem to have been designed by drunken angels on the day God was off making other worlds.
If he'd mentioned echidnas and mole rats too, I'd email him my support. Maybe he needs your support to speak his love loud and proud, billytea.
I'm way more excited about the honeymoon than I am about the wedding. Is that wrong?
No way. It's all great.

Gronklies, everyone. My two day leg cramp seems to have all but disappeared sometime during the blackout last night. I'm still swollen and achy here and there, but I actually feel a little bit like myself today, rather than a cranky, old, rheumatic mutterer.

Don't worry, I'm still cranky.

Ann, that's a ferret.

I'm way more excited about the honeymoon than I am about the wedding. Is that wrong?

No. Especially if you're more excited about the marriage than about either the wedding or the honeymoon.
