Natter 37: Oddly Enough, We've Had This Conversation Before.

Slash is still a niche market, and would be unprofitable, and it just SEEMS like most fanfic is slash. Which I suppose says something about my fanfic reading habits. Alternatively, everyone from romance writers to comic book writers to porn directors has been missing out on market share.
It's really not mostly slash. Even in the slashiest fandoms, like SG: Atlantis or Smallville, I think that less than half of the total stories are slash. Gen and het stories are a huge element of the fandom.
I agree that the romance market is missing out, though. Suzanne Brockman's latest (or one of the latest) has a gay romance as the B plot, and I'd like to find out how that one did, compared to her other ones.
Oh god. I would have lept into the cargo bay without a spacesuit. They've got them as captives in a bubble far from home and they torture them?
My thought was that now, if anything goes wrong, they can just relive the day over and over agin until they get it right.
(eta: this is probably why it's a good thing I'm not in charge of, well, anything)
Although if she asks nice maybe we could give her the winning lottery number or something....
Oh, pretty please with sarameg's cherries on top. If found worthy, I will give 50% to worthy charities, take 10% for myself, and donate the remaining 40% to the Buffista Permanent F2F Scholarship Fund.
I heard this morning that the wake up song for the shuttle was "I Got You Babe", which of course made me think of Groundhog Day. Is Cindy on the shuttle?
The other day, I dreamt that I was singing "I've Got You, Babe" to my kids. Fifteen minutes after I woke up, I was in the kitchen with them, and it came on the radio.
Fear my prophetic gift.
Sorry, Cindy. I wouldn't dream of spoiling you for Wednesday.
I'm just fearful of the chances of hearing "I've Got You Babe" when I'm around Cindy.
They've got them as captives in a bubble far from home and they torture them?
Um, which version?
But then, I like UB40's version of reggae and covers of oldies (like IGYB).
Sorry, Cindy. I wouldn't dream of spoiling you for Wednesday.
Okay, this isn't NAFDA, but what about in the spoiler thread?
I'm just fearful of the chances of hearing "I've Got You Babe" when I'm around Cindy.
Ah. You've heard me sing. I was wondering who bugged my house. Now I know.

Yay! Brenda didn't die in her sleep!
Sorry, Cindy. I fear Tep's dreams the most. Something to do with her knowing who's pregnant before the rest of us.
I have to agree that Denver is definitely big with the single life. For example - I once posted a profile with an online dating service on a Friday night and had been viewed over 600 times by Sunday evening.
I suppose if you're gorgeous (or maybe showing a little nip in your profile pic), that's perfectly normal. For me, though, not so much.

My only other (correct) prophetic dreams have been pregnancy dreams. I dreamt I was pregnant with Ben, long before my period was even due, nevermind overdue. I dreamt that my niece was in my apartment, holding a baby, and I didn't know whose baby it was--mine, or her mother's, but it was a boy. Ben is 9.5 years old, so this was over ten years ago so my details might be fuzzy, but it seems to me she didn't think it could be her mother's, because it was a boy.
Not only was I pregnant, with a boy; my niece's mother was pregnant (or soon got that way), with a girl who was born 17 days after Benjamin.
I had other dreams related to co-workers pregnancies too, long before I knew they were pregnant.
FEAR
ME.
(Cashmere, I think all this "FEAR ME" crap is a side effect of the Fifth Disease)
I'll just fear both Cindy and Tep, it'll save time.
In fact, I might just crawl under the bed with the dog. Who is terribly pleased that the risers that actually fit under the bed legs finally came. I think he will share his den with me.
