DH's now one of the first 35 people to see this ship and its cargo in the last 2400 years.

I am so freakin' jealous. I'm seriously considering taking up SCUBA diving so I can get involved in underwater surveying. And that's in Ireland. The conditions in the Med sound a lot more tempting, I have to say.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Sophia, congratulations! I will be happy to give up my @@ of amusement at your insane boss, for the sake of a happier you!

it's 'illegal' (though I suspect that's a strong bit of propoganda on the credit card companies' part) for me to express a preference to my clients for receiving payment by cash or check.

We make our clients pay the transaction fee (I think it's 4% for Amex, 3.5% for everyone else) if they want to pay by credit card. So far no one's balked. If they don't like it, they can always write us a check.

ETA: Congrats Sophia!

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Huzzah for Sophia!

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Sophia! What excellent news! Too bad you can't take vacation for at least part of your notice.

your not kidding, especially since I have 5 weeks of vaca to use up. It is not in the cards, though, since old boss will not approve it.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Yay, Sophia!!

I sense there will be flouncing on the last day.

Also, thanks everybody.

I am excited, yet apprehensive, like I can't believe it will actually be over or better. I am still waiting to for the bottom to drop out sometime, since I will have a great job, a great apartment and a great relationship (with my new cat)!

move out and draw fire

Sophia, good on you! Change is good, despite what my cat says.

I'm seriously considering taking up SCUBA diving

I really was planning on doing just this while here in Greece. The whole baby thing has delayed it, but maybe before we leave...although I understand it's pretty boring to dive here, if you aren't an archaeologist.

I guess, but boring diving is still diving, which is inherently cool. You could pop down to the Red Sea while you're in the general area. If you stretch the meaning of 'general area' a fair bit.
