What is even happening?

And yes, I will admit to being mildly obsessed with cherries. They're good! And compact! And pretty! Also, and I suspect this may be due to their still being a seasonal, limited crop, usually of uniformly flavorful quality.

Yes, and as I said, you need to send them to me. It's for your own sake, sarameg.

So Roberts was a card-carrying member of the Federalist Society?

Looks like he never had a card, though. But he was totally miming it.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Yeah, when he was asked to show his Federalist Society card, he'd just flip out his wallet really quick-like, and put it away right away, so no one ever noticed that he didn't have one.

In non-SCOTUS, non-Federalist Society news:

Researchers now think genetics is the reason cats are such finicky eaters. Scientists in Philadelphia say they have found a dysfunctional feline gene that probably prevents kitties from tasting sweets. Nearly every other mammal has the "sweet receptor" on their tongue that gives them a sweet tooth. "Because cats can't taste sweets, they're cranky," joked one author of the paper to be published in the inaugural issue of Genetics. Researchers say the study will help cat food companies improve the taste of feline chow, but hope it will also enable researchers to better understand food-related diseases such as diabetes and learn how diet influences evolution.

I have ranier cherries. I don't think their tender skin would survive more shipping. I'm afraid I'll have to spare them the trauma and eat them all myself.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

It looks like Roberts was a "member" one year.

hmm, well, I feel a little better about that. I've been in situations where I've thought "if I just write them a check, they'll leave me alone. "

So the Federalist society is sort of like PBS.

tommyrot, cats are totally federalists. Don't let them fool you. Don't fool yourself.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Anyone have some lj advice for me? My friends list is stuck - it won't show me anything more recent than yesterday afternoon.

This usually means that someone has posted a quiz response (one of those ones where you c&p a shitload of html into your post). Some of them have a tendency to lock your friends page like that until whoever posted the meme places it behind a cut tag.

(Insert rant about cut tagging quiz answers.)

So if you don't pay your Federalist Society pledge, Big Bird comes after you. </Simpsons>

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I think if you're a member of a steering committee, it's a little harder to play that.
