She's terse. I can be terse. Once in flight school, I was laconic.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Snerk.

My father told me once I couldn't watch Maude or Emergency. My sister laughed at him for me.

ION, I want popcorn with grated parmesan cheese and tabasco sauce sprinked on it. Sadly, I only have the popcorn here, the Tabasco at home, and the parmesan cheese not at all. Even more sadly, I have to go meet a vendor now, and I doubt she is going to bring me any.

Ohhh GC, that's the same Ms. Pac Man that my parents had at their bar/resturant. It is fun, fun, fun! We used to play it when it was slow (I was an endentured servant..oh wait..that's waitress there after college).

Oh Perkins, that's sad. Bad vendor, no biscuit! I just had cake. Lots and lots of cake. It was yum but now I'm too full. I need a nap too.

I may get cake! It's the monthly birthday party, so there will be cake. I need to figure out if I am too lazy to walk over there though.

Mmmm, cake. Jewel had a pretty good lemon cream cake last year--I'm debating seeing if they still make it. It'll be too damn hot to make one up myself this weekend. Even the paper suggested not doing any stove or oven cooking until next Wednesday or so. 100+ degrees on Sunday, meaning 115+ heat index. I'm going to hide out in the library and leave the fans on and blinds down for the cat at home (she can always sleep in the tub, where it's dark and relatively cool).

mmmm...cake. I think you should procure cake or perhaps find a minion to fetch you some! So you don't have to walk and yet? Still get cake!

Oh my lord, Kathy that's just too hot to do anything but sit in the shade and drink icy drinks. It's been hot here too, but not quite that hot where I am (thank goodness for ocean breezes).

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Hey, anyone ever heard of this "Firefly" show they're showing on the SciFi Channel?

I'm getting a lot of cleaning done at the apartment tonight and tomorrow (when it's only supposed to get to 90 or 92 degrees), so I can escape my non-a/c place on Sunday and leave the cat to swelter in it with my box and pedestal fans going full blast. I figure she'll be fine, since she's young, healthy, and smart enough to go into lethargic-mode when it gets hot like this. Last hot spell a few weeks ago, she laid down on the hardwood floor a lot and only meowed at half-volume, but kept on drinking a lot of water and eating her food. Actually, she handled it better than I did, since I don't eat when I get that hot.
