No, it was Dukes of Hazzard, Dallas and then Falcon Crest on Fridays.
This was my childhood as well. Love Boat and Fantasy Island were a smaller part. No Dynasty or Knots Landing though. My mother didn't watch, so I didn't either.
"No, Angel started out after Buffy on Tuesdays, and only moved to Wednesday after Buffy switched networks..."
And Buffy started out on Mondays.
I watched mostly soaps, daytime and primetime, as a kid. As I said recently in my bio, "To this day, I can't tell you how a bill becomes a law, but if you need to doctor the results of a paternity test or figure out which one is the evil twin, I'm your girl."
I was staying at my grandparents when they were living in rural GA, they had one of those big ass satetlites, they got all kinds of weird channels. Like the emu auction channel...I'm not sure what else was on it but they were always selling emus.
Anyway, something happened and they lost all of the religious programming and got access to all the porn. I was flipping through the channels and porn flashes by -- I thought faster than Grandma E could see it, but nope. She says "I always wanted to know what the big deal was about pornography."
When my brain started working again I told her to wait until after I went to bed.
I got to see some of Anne's dad's work when I stayed with her for the DC F2F--it's really spectacular stuff, in a miniature sort of way. You can spend a long time looking at a single piece, following the line, seeing the humor, and examining how he's arrested the motion that, if you were magic you could wave your hand and the subject would complete the leap or the head shake, whatever it was caught in the middle of doing. Marvelous stuff.
And I had to wrap tinfoil around the antenna to get reception!
um, still do.
nothing was banned in our house. except actual swearing or hitting by real people. video games were pong when I was growing up. However, there were things like Mad magazine. which my parents didn't buy.( mostly like because it was Junk- my parents don't swear) ( really you have to hear my father spit out the word Junk and Nummy - meaning a person with a numb or no brain. really - these are vicious words) I am sure I could have used my money to buy it if I wanted it, but the neighbors got it.
ION, I need to leave for work now.
Beverly, would you mind horribly if I copied your post and showed it to my dad?
Not a bit! There was more, but I cut it back, about the play of muscle under the skin and the obvious feel for structure and function, but an overlay of, for lack of a better word, imagination that goes beyond mere structure and function...
Use what you think he'd like. I'm so glad I had the chance to see the pieces, and for the time to really sink into them a bit.

Remember when it used to follow 7th Heaven on Mondays? Good times...
