The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Makeovers are fun, but I always end up buying lots of make up that I end up not using, so I try to avoid them.

Are you ready to be strong?

Yeah, well there is that.

Well, not every day, because I don't wear makeup every day

Yeah, that's pretty much what I meant in "your everyday life". But it's awesome that you do! Learn new things about yourself through somebody else's eyes and without being stuck in yours my own set of glasses, so to speak.

Ooh, what does she want to do?

Um, everything. If I let her, she'll cut my hair, make me wear makeup every single day, pluck my eyebrows and, oh, I don't think I even know the names in *Hebrew* of all the things she wants to play with on my head. None of them never went along with their threats, though, even though I'm perfectly willing to try.

but I always end up buying lots of make up that I end up not using

Do you use others, or just none at all?

I don't think I've ever put makeup (other than for costumes and such, and even that only once or twice, as a kid). I don't speak that language. It looks like magic, to me. I remember once, seeing a perfessional who was really good applying makeup on the face of a freind on her wedding day. It started like my friend, then the makeup lady started putting colors on her face, various ones, mixing them up, and suddenly it was my friend, the same face, only each feature prettier, and I couldn't possibly tell how it was done, trace the process. Wonderful.

I don't use much, though I have been using some of the stuff I bought this weekend with Plei and Jilli. Mostly I'm just lazy and not very good at applying it.

How does she want to cut your hair, Nilly? You have such gorgeous hair and such delicate features; I could imagine a million different cuts looking amazing on you.

I'm having a pro do my makeup for my wedding--I picked her because she did exactly what I asked for during the trial: she made me look natural, and like ME, and not too made up, just like a prettier version of myself. What sealed it was that when Saget saw me he couldn't even tell I was wearing makeup. And he HATES makeup.

Oh, well, I guess that if anyone would know what may work for their friends, it's those two lovely ladies.

Mostly I'm just lazy

Yeah, right.

How does she want to cut your hair, Nilly?

I have absolutely no idea. She keeps staing at me with a thoughtful look, nodding to herself, though, so she probably has a pretty good idea of what she has in mind. Or several.

I do? ::blush::

Really? What do you have in mind? Taking into account that I am too lazy to do anything more than washing and combing it?

Isn't that exactly what makeup is supposed to do? I'm glad you found somebody you like! Oh, now I already want to see pictures. Is it stressful if I ask how are things progressing in this front? Oh, oh! And in the job front, as well! I haven't posted with you in quite a while.

I could see you in a really pretty chin-length bob with some almost imperceptible layers near the bottom. Your hair is curly, right? It's hard to tell because in all the pictures I've seen you've had it back in a ponytail.

Is it stressful if I ask how are things progressing in this front?

No, it's OK. The people at the place we're getting married have been a fucking NIGHTMARE, but I think I'm getting things under control. It's a lot of work! I've had exactly one day off work so far and it was jam-packed with wedding planning. I think it's gonna take up most of my time for the next few weeks.

And in the job front, as well!

You're so sweet to ask! I'm freelance editing one column for my former employer, and I've already gotten a few offers from other publications, so things are looking good.

How's your life, Nill?

Your hair is curly, right?

Nope. Completely flat and very thin. Hmm, let's see if I can dig up a picture in which it's visible.

It's a lot of work!

More than you expected? But it seems like you manage to move things along, despite the outside obstacles, at least from your post. So it seems like it's a go-you!

Oh, good luck with that! I hope the job that is best for you will end up winning you. Do you still continue with teaching yoga, as well?

As for me, well, the semester has been crazy. It was over a couple of weeks ago, and today is the last (out of 2) exam of the students I TA, so no more grading to do (yay!), and I'll hopefully be able to get back to properly work on my research during the summer - I'm horribly horribly behind. Oh, and my best friend is leaving the university and moving. I've been helping her pack in the last couple of weekends (um, meaning, played with her absolutely adorable baby while she was packing), and it's finally sinking in that nothing will be the same again, what with her being so far away. A bit of growing up, even if not straight out of my own actions.

Cereal: I went to look at my pictures from the USA trip (I can't believe it's almost a year since!). I think I found a few with my hair in them (OK, that sentence reads silly): Boston, SF and DC.

OK, now I must repress the urge to look at every single one of those picture and drown myself in lovely memories. Students are about to come in any minute now with questions for their exam, and if I've drowned, it'll be hard for me to answer properly. Scribbling on a wet paper never works.

Yes, I would never stop doing that; it's my favorite thing in the week.

That is a very large yay. Congratulations!

Forgive me for not knowing this. What's your research, like, about?

nothing will be the same again, what with her being so far away.

How far away is she moving? My best friend lives in New York, very far away, but I make a point of seeing her regularly. She's in Chicago (where I live) right now, and I'm so excited to hang out with her. It is hard, though, having her not in the same city.
