Inara: So, explain to me again why Zoe wasn't in the dress? Mal: Tactics, woman. Needed her in the back. 'Sides, those soft cotton dresses feel kinda nice. It's the whole... air-flow.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Kathy, you might go with a foster group who will do home trial visits, to see how Amarna reacts. Not nicely, at first (really rare) but not screaming insanity (as Devi was with MK.) IME, female cats are sooo much pissier about new cats than boycats. But she does sound like she would do ok with a companion.

That's my main concern with getting a second cat. A's bored (she's got a bald tummy from obsessive licking, although it's starting to grow over) as well as fat, and I think a friend would be just the thing. But, I don't want her so freaked out that she goes back to licking for a completely different reason. Before I adopted her, she had spent six months at the shelter in the big Cat Room with dozens of other cats, so I know she doesn't have issues there. Also, when I first had her sitting on my chest at the shelter, she didn't hiss at any other cats who were trying to muscle in on her cuddle time--in fact, she was so relaxed that she started cleaning herself. That's what made me choose her.

I'm meeting ChiKat for dinner and a show tomorrow night, and she has a friend who fosters cats. I think I'll get her contact info and see what's available. Thanks for the suggestion!

I can't even.

Just go to Toronto and keep on the lookout for suspicious activity, and you should be all set.

Plenty of suspicious activity here, also a comfy couch.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

And a betrothal! Don't forget about the betrothal...

No forgetting about that, whatsoever! I realize there's an out clause for the next time The Thrill is between wives, but that's understandable.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

No nighttime natter?

eta: Where is everyone? I'm going to catch my train - there'd better be some natter here when I get to work, dammit!

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Jeans day today, finally. The last three Fridays we've had either clients or our CEO in the office. It's amazing how much the jeans days do for my mental health.

The project I was freaking about this week is still ongoing. I was right, it wasn't close to what SuperDemandingVeryImportant person wanted. But, weirdly, she's not being at all bad about it. And she's not the type to be all friendly when she's pissed, so I guess it's going to be ok. It'll finish up today, so that's going to be a relief anyway.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So, I'm reading this article, and it opens like this:

Two high-profile U.S. senators, Joseph Lieberman and Hillary Rodham Clinton, are incensed over pornographic content "hidden" in the popular video game "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas," and are demanding action from either the government or the game's maker.

What's up with the quote marks? It's actually hidden, no? Not "hidden"??
