I've never actually been to an Olive Garden, but I have this issue with a variety of things -- I like the cheesy mass-market version, I like the fancy "real" version. Not because they are similar, but because they each have something to recommend them.

And, this is what I really meant.

The one I'm most obsessed with, Cracker Barrel, isn't in California and I love them because they are road trip food.

I will always have a fondness for Cracker Barrel, because I once met my sister and her GF there (in Rockford, which is halfway between Chicago and Madison). At that meeting, my youngest son was conceived.

So anybody here have any knowledge or opinion of John Roberts? I think I read about him (that he was the more deliberative of two likely nominees who weren't Gonzales) and the newscasters were talking about how intelligent he is, but, then again, it's not Scalia's intelligence I question.

Never been to a waffle house.

I don't mind chain food, especially for dinner. But for breakfast? no. though chainlets like Roscoe's are fine. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day.

I love Waffle House, but I have to go a fair ways south to find one. We have to make do with IHOP here. (I first typed "iHop")

IHOP should totally go iHOP. It would be hip, new generation. Though I hate IHOP.
