Spike's Bitches 25 to Life

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

You know what I think we should do? Start a Bitches wishlist. We all need a pick-me-up once in a while, and I don't know about the rest of you, but it makes me feel good when someone receives a gift unexpectedly. The gift-ers can remain anonymous.

Perhaps it could be an addition to the list that Deena maintains. Or not. I may very well be talking out of my ass.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

That's okay. You already gave me a cheap thrill by revealing your deepest goth past and ongoing Skinny Puppy and Front 242 love.

Hee! Anything for you, my darling Hec. Though I never developed a deep and abiding love for The Smiths/Morrissey or The Cure. Music shouldn't make me want to slit my wrists.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I figure we'll see $3.50 up here by the middle of September. Then, I will finally stop with the getting up late and driving in and start riding the bus every day.

I wouldn't be at all shocked. The prices keep going up, and premium is over three bucks most places

Regular was $2.69 this evening at one of the CD AM/PMs. Naturally, we stopped and filled the tank.

Paul busses in each morning, which means he has to get up insanely early, but saves on parking and gas. I pick him up in Georgetown from the express stop, because it means he gets home an hour earlier, and it's only about 20 cents a trip. Most days, that's the only time I get out of the house. I'm going stir crazy, but I can't justify the gas cost just to go not spend money.

You know what I think we should do? Start a Bitches wishlist. We all need a pick-me-up once in a while, and I don't know about the rest of you, but it makes me feel good when someone receives a gift unexpectedly.

I think it's an excellent idea. Did you know Sephora offers a registry service now?

I've afforded some little luxuries, like having a housekeeper come in a couple times to help me.

On the bright side, I cleaned our washing machine today. For the first time in, oh, ever. The lint trap on it was broken before we moved in, so it was kind of disgusting. I used an old toothbrush for part of it, but mostly, I was digging slimy lint off the outer rim of the can with my bare hands.

And our kitchen is fairly clean, too. By the time I have to go back to full time, outside the house work, I should be adept at housework!

I need to stop looking at budgeting sites. They're all cult-like. While I'm cutting as many corners as I can, I'm still not down with cutting out everything that costs money, as I'd like to have some small pleasures in life. Like movie rentals, or the occasional book.

Pfah! Morrissey's a funny guy. I don't get why people say he's gloomy. He's Tragickal and Amusing.

evil

I knew it!

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Though I never developed a deep and abiding love for The Smiths/Morrissey or The Cure. Music shouldn't make me want to slit my wrists.

This is why I never listen to that I Hope You Dance song.

move out and draw fire

You know what I think we should do? Start a Bitches wishlist. We all need a pick-me-up once in a while, and I don't know about the rest of you, but it makes me feel good when someone receives a gift unexpectedly.

I like the way Plei thinks, and I like the idea of the Bitchlist. I have actually wished I could send a pick-me-up to folks here, but I never know what anyone has.

I still suck at housework. No matter how hard I try, the place just doesn't look clean when I'm done. Thus I paid the money to have a housekeeper come in before we had guests.

Movie rentals here are as expenisive as buying a DVD from secondspin or the Amazon affiliates, but since we don't have TV, the occasional movie or TV-on-DVD really helps. I do get sick of everyone else here talking about how they are going to Crete or Italy or whatever. "Have you been? Oh, you really should! It's lovely!" Yes, I know. But even without the baby we can't afford to travel.

The job here is still hanging fire, with repeated crankygrams to Washington to get my clearance. I'm still of two minds about it - my take-home will be $3.78/month after babysitting expenses, so it's not a financial help. I can't decide whether the benefits of having an employment record while here, and the adult interaction, outweigh staying home and encouraging Mallory to develop superpowers. But it's still moot anyway.

Oh, and speaking of, interview-ma to P-C!

IF you listen to the lyrics. The music itself hits the "OMG! Kill me now!" button.

And of course I'm evil. I just hide it.

This is why I never listen to that I Hope You Dance song.

Bwah! Her voice grates on me. The nasal tone constantly makes me think she's a shade flat.

idea of the Bitchlist

I think we have the name.

How long are you expected to be there? It may not help much, but you are more than welcome to come visit us in Italy. Hopefully I'll be there next summer, and there's plenty of room in the condo. Southern Italy isn't as glamourous as the northern portion, but it's got a charm all of its own.

I hope the job sitch works itself out for you.

Oh, and speaking of, interview-ma to P-C!

Ditto!
