Angel: Is that what you think you are--a hero? Spike: Saved the world didn't I? Angel: Once. Talk to me after you've done it a couple more times.

'Destiny'

Spike's Bitches 25 to Life

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Had the craziest dream last night.

I was in love with a Mennonite boy who was a friend of the family. I wanted to marry him and be with him, but wanted him to be a little less Mennonite-y. His parents were freaky deaky Mennonites but in my dream, they were more like David Koresch/survivalist Mennonites. Building log cabins and such. We were discussing it when Joe woke me up to kiss me goodbye this morning. I vaguely remember asking him if we could become Mennonites. I'm pretty sure he said "No".

My dream Mennonite was awfully cute. Dark, curly hair. A little on the pudgy side but tall. And so loving and sweet. Sigh. But I'm also pretty sur the reason he was single was that his first wife, who was 90 years old had died.

I'm a fucking amazing catch!--Fiona Gallagher, Shameless(US)

Huh. A.'s Cool Friend's Parents must be rich.(Stepmonster putting the climb in social climber) because neither she nor my dad are cool, but rather Anyaesque. I guess I had "Born in The Usa" when I was a few years older, and it wasn't till I was older I really got all the songs. Maybe there's hope for him yet. And I've only heard "Idiot" once, I guess I had the idea that it was the "What's Goin' On?" of alterna-rock...maybe nsm, at least so overtly.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Happy Belated Anniversary, J & Z!

wrod! Cereal to my last: I have no problem with overt anti-war messages, for kids or anyone else, but sm has stopped playing the Dixie Chicks because Natalie Maines got "controversial" so I was thinking it was weird she didn't. But then, they are weird, so...

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Happy aniversary, J & Z! Plus, I am going to be in Minneapolis from September 12th-19th for business. I want to see you guys if possible!

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

So, there is a wedding in my backyard on Sunday. I have been working really hard for the last month or so getting things ready. In the sickest news ever, I started think of what project I can start after the wedding. Where did my lazy bones go?

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Ooooo. I could see about getting you into the opening of You Can't Take It With You, which I'm Assistant Directing, and maybe a run-through of Debbie Does Dallas: The Musical, which Z is directing. If you'd like. But yay! I'd love to see you.

And thanks for the wishes, y'all. It's been a fun one.

erika, maybe sm hasn't paid attention to the GD lyrics?

Now tagless for your comfort.

erika, odds are good the parents won't be able to understand the lyrics. So maybe the message will go over their heads. Owen LOVES Holiday. He rocks out to it.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

I think the things they'd be most likely to pick up on and object to would be the occasional profanity.

If they catch onto the politics themselves (rather than someone else mentioning it), it'll be during Holiday's reference to the Eiffle Tower.

This is, of course, assuming they themselves ever hear any of it.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Heck, I wouldn't notice the politicalness of a song unless someone pointed it out to me. As much as I like poetry and metaphor and even bluntness, I never really pay that much attention to song lyrics (unless it's Broadway show tunes), I'm all about the melody, harmony and just losing myself in the flow of the song.

Job~ma for Susan and P-C.

Also, Happy Anniversary, juliana and Zach!
