I'm ashamed to say that the food at Angelica Kitchen is so good, I'd still eat there even if the owner were a crazed pervert.
Besides, any, um, 'human products' wouldn't be vegan, now would they?
Well, it depends on whether or not said human products would suffer if consumed. Were we to suggest that sperm (as an example of human products) suffers when consumed, I suspect the significant others of vegans would object strenuously.
And really, it's all about consent. The day they make a pig that really wants to be eaten and they find a way to kill it without pain or fear, I'm going to eat pound of bacon.

They're getting pretty close to creating vat grown meat. All your protein arranged in a properly pig-like construction, without it actually ever having been a pig.
I just got a call from my mom. She and my dad are with my grandmother, as are all of my dad's sisters and brother. Looks like the end is probably very near. Poor Honey.
{{{Gloomcookie}}} A peaceful passing to your grandmother and comfort to you.
Guess who has an interview on Thursday?
And yes, it's for the position I emailed about this morning. Y'all were right, I admit it. (It's the only UW job I've applied for all August--the pickings are slim this month.)
It's just the kind of Assistant to the Chair/Division Head/Dean type position I've been most hoping to find. Basically it's Executive Assistant work, so I could probably swing something a little more prestigious/career track if that were what I was after, but it's pretty much a lateral move from what I was doing before, so I don't feel like I'm falling back on the ladder. And AFAIC my real career track is my writing. I want a job that's interesting and challenging enough to keep me from feeling bored or soul-sucked, and to give me a platform to advance from if I ever give up writing (not planning on that at all, though!), but also one that I can master and that won't provide the opposite level of soulsuck by making me too busy and harried to write.
So I'll take some of that job~ma now, please.
Aimee, I'm so glad it turned out not to be a terrible day.
Happy birthday to meara and Jen.
Susan, loads of job~ma (and salary~ma while I'm at it)!
It took me a long time to hit post on that one. (((Gloomcookie and family))) and yay for Susan.
