You never know if a girl's gonna say 'yes', or if she's gonna laugh in your face and pull out your still-beating heart and crush it into the ground with her heel.

Spike's Bitches 25 to Life

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Hmm...Pastina. Available in the pasta aisle?

Yep! I love the stuff. I eat it with broth when I'm sick. Mmmmm. It's little stars!

Happy Birthday, Jen and meara!

I didn't have much time to listen to the weather this morning, so it's good to hear that things didn't go as badly as were originally predicted in NO. Still, {{{}}} to anyone with friends and family in the area, it's going to be a mess to clean up.

What is even happening?

Yes, available right in the grocery store's pasta aisle. I don't know what brands you have out there. I know Prince Pasta makes it. Ronzoni makes it, and their brand is star shaped [link]

I think I'm love with the T.Rex, Gris. He hit one of my pet peeves big time!

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Thanks Cindy!

I switched her to 8oz bottles today. I need to figure out a new schedule for her to wean her off a couple of bottles a day. She still around 7 bottles a day.

How often do you feed her solids?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I overheard the craziest Bridezilla on the train this morning- apparantly her fiance is in the hospital for mysterious bleeding, and she (Train!Bridezilla) was bitching that his mother decided to stay with her sick son instead of going to Bridezilla's bridal shower. The people she was complaining to looked at her as if she had just spouted a second, more rodent-like head. The topper? B-zilla was bitching that future MIL should have come to the shower because "there was nothing she could do" at the hospital. The MIL? is a doctor.

WTF?

Raq, Mallory gets cuter with every picture! I want to pinch those adorable cheeks of his.

Teppy, much ~ma to Big!Boss.

Scott's Lyme Disease (which the Dr.'s office confirmed this morning)

{{{Scott & Cindy}}} You need a break from all this sickness. So sorry.

Aimee, happy to hear you are not in jail. Poor {{{Em}}}.

Mostly lurking...

Poor Emeline! Oh, and speaking of Emeline, I might finally finish her baby present this weekend. I hope you haven't redecorated her stuff yet :)

I'm home from grocery shopping. I love my new grocery store. It's like the ultimate shopping experience. Unfortunately, I usually go over my budget thanks to its wonderfulness.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

OK, so I'm trying to figure out what to say when I email hiring managers directly for UW positions I've already applied for through HR. I was thinking of something like this:

Dear Dr. So-and-So,
I recently applied for the JobTitle opening in your department through the UW Human Resources website, but I wanted to send you a brief note expressing my strong interest in the position. I have spent most of my career in university biomedical departments, including over four years at Former UW Department, so I believe I have much to offer you. If you have any questions about my experience, please feel free to email me at this address or call me at PhoneNumber. Also, my former supervisor, Dean NiceGuy, has assured me he would be happy to discuss my qualifications with potential UW employers. He can be reached at Email or Phone.

Sound reasonable? I suck at this part of the job search because I've always been able to get by without doing it. I'm trying to keep it brief, because they already have my cover letter and resume with all the details about what I can do for them.
