Spike's Bitches 25 to Life

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Dude! Polar fleece swag blankets can be easily cut into diaper liners! For, like, free! No sewing needed, because it Does Not Fray.

I'm stoked. Stupid and pointless swag shall be pointful and soft wicker-awayer of moisture!

Really, I just need to learn how to use my sewing machine without panicking so I can make my own damn diapers, but this is a start.

(Besides, when my parents get back, I'm totally blinking at my mother until she makes me some wool-in-ones.)

Cloth diapering is so very cult-like.

If anyone is considering it, this: [link] is the Best Thing Ever. The big stuff sack holds a load of diapers (dry pail method), the small ditty bag carries 2-3 dirty diapers when you're on the go, and the mesh bag is perfect for toys and other random baby items. You only need two of the sets, and at $10 each, such a bargin. (Seriously. See how much they charge for things designed for the purpose I'm using these for, and boggle.)

Today we went to four consignment baby shops in search of diaper things. Not a huge success, but not a total bust, either. We found either diapering items or clothing items at 3 of the 4 stores, and one of them was near a watch place, so I got my battery replaced and my strap shortened.

I think I've transfered all my Shopping Energies (them what were thwarted by boob and foot growth) into shopping for bargin baby stuff.

And, err, handbags, but I promise I've stopped at two.

until I find them in nickel...

David, you are not especially Canadian. But we like you, anyhow.

Do you need more polar fleece? Not because I have any swag blankets around, but I do have some polar fleece yardage stashed away.

I may, in fact, need more polar fleece.

Especially if I go through with my Cunning Sewing Plan.

For the first time in my life, I'm sad that the Malden Mills outlet in Seattle closed.

The problem with deciding that you've been sick and should sleep as long as you damn well please is that not only do you sleep in ridiculously late and end up with a headache, you also are STILL AWAKE at nearly 5:30AM. Doh.

This does not bode well for getting up tomorrow(today), and then on Monday...

Trust my rage

Cloth diapering is so very cult-like.

Plei, how is it going? I've been curious and as a someone already drawn into the cult, I feel it's my duty to check up on you. Ellie has almost outgrown the diapers I have for her (good up to 13 lbs) so it's about time for me to do more diaper-buying of my own.

Today we went to four consignment baby shops in search of diaper things.

All Ellie's clothes that I have bought have been from consignment shops. At her size, they look like they have been worn (maybe) twice and they are so cheap I can buy lots of stuff.

-t, I hope you guys (and everyone else) are well clear of Katrina. It looks to be a pretty scary storm.

move out and draw fire

One of the best baby presents I got was a friend went to a consignment store and bought bags of boy clothes in every size. This set Mal up with a core amount of clothing and I don't have to panic whenever he outgrows a size. I've also had to buy very few clothes for him myself.

Yesterday when we were walking around Sounio I had him in the marsupial, but with the wind and sun and blowing grit sandblasting us I put my sheer black scarf with the glittery bits over him. It was very goth. My friend put it: "Your son looks ridiculous."

Vibing hard for NOLA.

And feel-better vibes to meara.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Beth, that flea market sounds like a lot of fun. I have a full day planned, but maybe I can try to swing by.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I am churlish and cranky because it's the last day of our Imagination Vacation and I have to go back to work tomorrow. I've had such a blast hanging out at home with Tom.

Spending serious time here in the house has made me love it more and more. It feels like home, but also, it's pretty! (I do not generally associate "pretty" with home)

also, I don't feel so great. Wah.
