I don't think even a corset could give me realistic-looking cleavage.
Hi Burrell! How was Franny's birthday?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Talk to the nice alterations lady. They can probably give you a built-in bra that will do the job. My wedding dress had one, as did the strapless I wore. Much more comfortable than an actual bra.

I will. We're all going to a seamstress instead of the craxy expensive bridal salon we got the dresses at.
Hi Burrell! How was Franny's birthday?
We are having the party tomorrow. So, um, we'll see. I'm predicting a bit of chaos, but it will all be okay as long as neither I nor DH pops a gasket.
last night I was telling Mom about all the bridal craziness and kid's birthday craziness. Mom said she'd read that at kid's parties you should only have the number of guests that equal the child's age plus 1. So, for 4 yr old's party 5 kids. That's what she did the whole time we were growing up and it worked well.
We are having 4 two-year old girls (and assorted parents and infant siblings) plus Eve on Sunday. But since the weather should be good, I think we're just going to go to the park. I am hoping for low levels of chaos.
We did a cake when we were at my mother's earlier this month and Eve was SO HAPPY to hear us sing and blow out candles.
That was a completely fluke cross post.
wHen I started writing the post Flea hadn't asked about Franny's birthday.
We're going to have cake but no presents or activities. It's basically a big group playdate, with cake.
I bought the first dress I tried on, and I think it was $125. I was on a budget, and it was pretty, and I'm not really a ruffly person. It didn't seem ruffly then, but looking at pictures, it was pretty late '80s. Years later, I coveted Caroline Kennedy's dress.
I can't wear strapless out of fear. I just imagine all the ways it could go wrong, but I think it looks splendid on the right person.

We did that when the boys were little.
Oh hell, what am I gonna wear to the wedding!
