I need a concensus on what "Light Snacks" means.

Light snacks.

eta: or to be nice...bridge mix, cheese/crackers, that sort of thing.

I'm guessing plates of cookies, plates of celery and carrots, maybe chips and dip.

Ugh. Not calling. Email OK. Not calling. I might catch them at a bad time. I might stammer and have to start a sentence four times before it comes out right.

The odd thing is I'm considered good on the phone. But only when I'm comfortable with what I'm saying and feel like I have a legitimate reason to be calling.

Why the fuck is what always worked for me before not getting the job done this time? I hate this.

Maybe try to come up with a list of places over the weekend. There's a church near our house that has a daycare, so that might be a good place to start.

UW HR has a list.

If we're not anywhere near the top of the list for on campus by the time I need to go back to work, we'll have to look into that. Or into nanny sharing.

The email is not repeating what has been said. It is giving new info. and it is not pushy.

If you want the job, do it. I would do it now, because you have talked to former boss about it. if former boss happens to talk to someone - your name is more likely to ring a bell if they have seen it a few times.

Sooo, I'm still waiting to hear back about the job I interviewed for. I've been trading emails w/ my old boss (from the last time I was a full-time employee of the company), who is a very cool lady. This is what she just told me:

If you weren’t being considered they would have told you right off the bat. The HR rep usually calls the same day or the next morning depending on how late it was that the interview completed. They don’t string you along if you are not being considered. It could also be that they have not finished interviewing folks. I am sure that they want to exercise all of their possibilities. If you were a definite no hire you would have been told by now.

So I will stop freaking out quite so much.

Light snacks can mean different things nuts and mints only; nuts, mints, fruit and veggie platter, cheese and crackers. Maybe finger sandwiches (tuna salad, chicken salad, pimento cheese).
