I had almost no childproofing at home, yet somehow I survived. I've got a misshapen finger from getting it slammed in a door (stitches), I'd experimented with house current repeatedly by age 5, and broken at least one chair by climbing up its back and riding it down to the ground.

My childproofing concerns for Mal involve the sharp marble hearth, the 220v wall current, and the meter-high-and-thus-surmountable wall that divides the second-floor landing from a drop of 15 feet onto concrete stairs.
