Hmph. I've been with my Ethan longer than that, and nobody took me to a spa.
Hee. But they've been together for 8 years and are JUST getting married.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

The last shower I attended was nice, because I got to meet other people who were attending the wedding, and got to give a "go you!" gift to the bride that she didn't have to share.
They did request setting up a home stuff, despite her selling her house so they could move in together. I just didn't feel the shower was the right place to pull from that list.
It was a lovely shower, even if distantly related to the bride's personality. There were coloured sandwiches and lovely teas and desserts. Plus I won stuff.
Maybe we ought to start giving stuff away at bridal showers. Make it a sort of free-for-all to claim duplicate stuff.
So how do you get through to people that it's possible to have a shower, even an Event shower, without taking on debt to rival the GNP of France?
My shower/bachelorette party was seeing The VaVaVoom Room show at Fez, with my sister (who was also my MoH). She bought my ticket and drinks, and the whole night came to about $40.

Jessica, have you tried scratching the soles with your keys?
(couldn't work the link, btw)
And I agree, Bride should NOT have chosen where to have her shower. She should have been more sensitive to other's financial situation and she told me this as well in the conversation we just had.
And Happy Anniversary, Jess and Ethan.
(BTW - they're (Bride and Groom) REPUBLICANS. That might explain it. :) )
Jess, happy anniversary! You two seem to be great together, plus insanely cute.
DH and I were only together for 7 years before we got married. No shower for me.
That might have had more to do with my not having a MoH, though.
I can't see your shoes, Jessica (Happy Anniversary)
Hello all. I'm finally posting to b.org because I'm really, really bored at work and Susan isn't going to kill me for posting (at least, I don't think she will....)
Hi, honey!
No, not killing you. Just haven't been around for a few hours because I was A) paying bills, B) writing thank-you notes to contest judges, C) mailing the products of A and B, and D) getting more ibuprofen for the baby girl.
And as soon as she's down for her nap, I'll disappear for another hour or two to deal with Writers Conference Drama (no editors/agents disappearing this time, so I'm only tangentially involved), and start work on my big battle scene for the WIP.
