You always think harder is better. Maybe next time I patrol, I should carry bricks and use a stake made out of butter.

Spike's Bitches 25 to Life

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Nicole, can you hop on AIM for a second?

Never mind-- I am going to nap now.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Oh, Susan, I am a tactless ass. I just pretty much skipped, in my drunkenness.

I think you should write the Eulogy too; from everything you've told us, your dad sounds like a wonderful man, and the words should be said, or at least put together. There will be, I think, a sense of rightness in putting him into words, inasmuch as one can.

I can only imagine how this must feel, and the strangeness of coming together with people with whom you're intimate in some ways, being related, but may not always agree with or enjoy being with. What do they say? You can choose your friends but not your family? I'm happy for you that you were so blessed in your father, and I'm sorry that you have lost him now. It is clear from what you've said that he was a good and loving and honourable man, and that he touched other people's lives. I hope that I leave such bright and loving memories behind me, and that I can say with honesty that I have tried to make the world a better place, as he evidently did.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Susan, continued ~ma to you and your family. Take care.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

(I would love to claim shared-brain-ness with Cass but the truth is that I was taking notes in Natter last week. Just in case.)
You were taking notes on my brain? Did they make sense? I really do like the vacuum though. As much as I could ever like a vacuum given that I loathe the task.

Blergh just took meds and they were nasty tasting. Pills shouldn't taste.

Anything not Web-based just isn't getting done today. Bother. Though in about twenty minutes, I probably won't care too much. I'm going to take notes from the cat and just laze around.

Susan, continued strength to you. I agree that you should write the eulogy that means something to you for your father. And I didn't get to say so before but Dylan's writing about him was just lovely.

I'm getting the pig!

Sorry, Perkins! I was playing literati and missed your request. When you get up, check for me on Yahoo IM if I'm not on AIM.

Cass, I saw ita's post to you about the Bissell Power trak and researched it online. Taking notes on your brain would involve much more research!

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Susan, ~ma for you. It is a hard time.

I just had a lovely conversation with my mom. I told her about my job search stuff, both the KC job and looking for temporary work in A2, and she was receptive and supportive. Or so it seemed.

I told her that the KC job was medical writing, and she asked what about my pharmacology training, and I told her they specifically wanted a medical writer with pharmacology experience. And then she said, "I don't understand why you didn't just become a doctor; you would have no problems now!" To which I instinctively replied, "That's great!"

About a minute of silence, and then she hung up.

Aaaaand things are back to normal again.

All is well that ends in pizza.

I wrote not only my dad's obituary, but also the eulogy, delivering it to the great surprise of my relatives who didn't know I could write a good stick, nor that I had a public speaking voice.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

El Wall del Spices has been completed! Pictures here.

I still have a drawer full of half-empty jars and sample jars from Penzeys, and another drawer full of Penzeys spices in bags ('cause I like to buy in bulk). But 39 spices are on The Wall! Woot!

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

(Yep, cake still good with the second slice. This time with even more silver baubles.)

All is well that ends in pizza.

"Thirty-nine tins of spice on the wall, 39 tins of spi-ice...take one down, toss it around..."
