Suddenly I have a mental flash of Lorn's head on the platter, scaring the heck out of Cordy just by being alive.
Spike's Bitches 25 to Life
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Yeah, that's the one problem with following your bliss...figuring out what that bliss is.
At the risk of talking too much about baby poo, (whitefonted for those just not interested) the change to an all-formula diet appears to have made Mal constipated. Giving him plain water is helping a little, but he woke up crying in pain a lot last night, and there's a bit of blood today. The ped via phone says to mix a little fresh-squeezed lemon juice and a little olive oil into some water and give that to him.
As always, you guys are my sanity check and second opinion. Thoughts? Advice?
Raq, is he on solids? Are there some solids that are suggested for this? When the hell do you introduced strained prunes?
He's on rice cereal. The ped doesn't want me to start solids at all for another month, but she caved for the cereal as he's doubled his birthweight and was downing well over a liter of milk a day.
I'm seriously considering starting the strained fruit about now.
Everything wrong with you I like.
I like this one.
Raq, not that I should be giving advice on babies, being single and babyless, but how long has he been on the rice cereal? Because rice can be binding.
sj, shouldn't you be sleeping?
the SILof a frind of mine who raised kids on a raw food diet usded to make grape juice for her kids. Basicly, grapes in the blender - she was very careful to water it down severly, because of the effect it had on her kids.
I am guessing that is what the lemon juice is for. but I am guessing with the baby's natural tendency to go for the sweet a pure fruit juice - well water down- would help. Unfortunatly, I am not a doctor and nor do I have kids - so I have no way of telling you anything real about this?
sj, shouldn't you be sleeping?
Yes. I really should be, but I woke up very sore about a half hour ago and it hurt too much to continue to lay down, so I am up for a bit. I promise to try sleep again soon.

How old is he now, Raq? What I'd suggest sort of depends on that.
Raq, my friend had the same problem with her son (he was allergic to milk, though and could only drink soy). Her ped told her to put a little prune juice in his formula. It was before he started solids, too.
He's 5 months old (and hollering at the moment). The increased amounts of plain water and the water with lemon seem to be helping some but it's still a problem.
I haven't seen prune juice here - I think I'll throw some grapes in the blender and strain them and see what happens with that.
