But that's just my point! You she obeys! She obeys you! There's obeying going on right under my nose!

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

billytea, you are indeed doomed.

I had a great conversation with her tonight. It feels very comfortable talking with her, starting to get into more personal stuff too. One of my concerns, that talking with her won't always be a sparring match, has been allayed. Ah, but there's a problem. She's already played the 'friends' card. Her stated reason is that she thinks this is the start of a beautiful friendship, and doesn't want to jeopardise that. Could very possibly be a cover for just not being interested, of course, but if I have a read on her, I think there's a good chance that isn't decided yet.

Anyway, I disagreed with her, first because if you don't form a relationship with someone with whom you have a friendship, who are you going to form one with? And second because I believe that in such a situation, you reach for the brass ring. If there's the possibility of more, you're shortchanging yourself not going for it.

I'm seeing her tomorrow night. I see a good chance the line "Time to choose. Do you want to play it safe, or will you go for the brass ring?" could come up. Possibly just before kissing her. Well, depending on how things go.

Annoying Coworker is being extra annoying, but part of it isn't his fault. His computer isn't working. It hasn't worked right for several months, they came out and fixed it and it worked fine for a few weeks. Now it's dead. Bereft of life, it is an ex computer.

IT has been saying for over a week they'll be coming to fix/replace it. They were supposed to be here yesterday, they are supposed to be here this afternoon. If they aren't I'm thinking of hunting them down and dragging someone back here.

With no computer Annoying Coworker has to use someone's for certain things, and I'm usually that someone. So I give up my computer or he hovers while I do stuff. Somethign happened and my computer froze, and Word wasn't responding. I started to go to the Task Manager and he exclaims "NO!!!! don't turn it off!" Which I didn't, but he's stressed out (partly because he's past all his deadlines due to procrastination) and partly because no computer and IT putting him off.

billytea, is it sparring in a bad way? Or a banter-y way? Or do you just really dislike that type of badinage? Because, frankly, banter-y verbal sparring is, in fact, a form of flirting; one I engage in as often as possible.

Well now, that's the issue. Some sparring is a good thing, both because it can be flirtatious, and because I really need someone who's going to challenge me. But all sparring, all the time would be very tiring. I also need some fundamental acceptance. (Plus, though it can be flirtatious, she doesn't believe she's able to flirt, which can change the tone a little, make it more serious. She is in fact better at flirting than she makes out, or at least she's able to react once she's at ease, but I don't think she recognises it.)

Mostly lurking...

WooHoo! I just found out that Medicare is enough to not take the Student Health Care Plan at school. This makes me very relieved, since I was worried that they may not consider it a comporable plan. I just didn't want to be paying for THREE different insurances (Medicare, CommonHealth, Chickering).

What is even happening?

Nora, you're the stuff of which new parents' dreams are made. Really. Awesome gift! And bringing food later, and offering to watch the baby while they run to the store? You ought to go straight to heaven.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

offering to watch the baby while they run to the store?

See, that's a selfish offer, 'cause BABY!!!!!!! Get to smell and hang out with the BABY!!!! Crying babies don't scare me neither.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Nora, I wish you were MY neighbor.

Back of hand. I believe she was being a dog at the time.

Where Christopher was Kara's age, he spent a few weeks where he would only communicate by barking. His mother took it in stride. It unnerved his grandmother, though.

Right! As long as they're not your own or you don't have them overnight, they're easy, because you can give them back.

Just a selfish thought, a lot of times, when my babies were little, I would have been eternally grateful if, when a neighbor was running to the store, she had said so, and asked if I needed her to pick up anything for me.

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

I want Nora to be my neighbor, dang it.
